Clean, comfortable, modern with en suite facilities in every room, an excellent place to stay in Mallaig. I've stayed here many times, and never had ANY form of complaint. The staff are all wonderful; friendly , and helpful to a fault. Convenient for rail, bus and ferry alike, and in easy walking distance of everywhere in Mallaig. Rooms ARE limited,... More

Pleasant room with ensuite superb shower / although no breakfast they do supply a mini fridge with milk and cornflakes plus a little cafetiere which was adequate .Location 2 mins from station and everything in Mallaig. My only comment is that 2 of the towels were frayed and had holes in them , i forgot to mention this at the... More

Stayed overnight during a cycling weekend with some friends. Staff and people very friendly. Basic rooms a good size although wifi didn't work. Restaurant was very nice with food good and staff very friendly providing good service. Bar was on the small side and got a very buy and boisterous as the night wore. No cooked breakfast available with continental... More

Spent 2 nights in a single room here midweek. Lovely young staff, freshly decorated en suite room with comfy bed, tea tray and a fridge. Also fresh milk and cereal provided in the room, even though the £30 rate was for room only - what a thoughtful touch! I would return here and stay over, and would heartily recommend the... More

The restaurant looked inviting but instead of a bottle of wine it was by the glass and there was no choice. Some of the sea food was not available in the dish that was chosen so alternatives were offered. After the starter we asked for a pause but the main came as soon as our starter plates were taken. The... More

Stayed for a night with some friends, 3 single rooms £30 per person(great value) ate in the restaurant, extensive menu lots of seafood, food was excellent, service first rate. All the staff were very good both in the restaurant and in the bar. Would certainly recommend The Steam Inn as a great place to stay, have dinner or a drink.

The Steam Inn advertises a room only basis, but struggling to find a b&b, I reluctantly called to book a single room @ £30. I arrived about 15.00 and the room was ready. I paid the bar staff £30 and was shown to the room, a minute, but comfortable space, with single bed, chest of drawers, fridge, tea/coffee/drinking chocolate and... More

The room was really nice and comfy with a great shower. Quiet and great value for money. I ate in the restaurant and the menu was extensive with lots of local fresh seafood. Great spot in a lovely place on the west coast of Scotland

Room we stayed in for one night is above the restaurant/bar was recently decorated and very clean. No issues with sound from below. Paid £60 for a twin room which I thought was great value for standard of room provided... No breakfast option but mini bar had pint of milk and breakfast cereal along with tea making facilities. Food/service was... More
