After a stroll round shopping, this is a very welcome break for a coffee and a cake, or even a light lunch. very good service, excellent food and if in the area make a stop if you can. We havent tried the hotel side of the business, but will on our next visit.

Was good value for oney and well situated in the heart of Annan. My only grumble was that I specially requested a quiet room and this was not the case, right on a busy road and the main high street. The twin room was good and every clean and well decorated

A central location with basic facilities and a good breakfast to set you up for a day on the river. Value for money at less than £40 bed and breakfast. Good size twin rooms with compact on suite bathrooms, flat screen TV, Tea making facilities, Clean and tidy and very obliging staff, pity the salmon weren't as obliging. Newly refurbished... More

Excellent service, very welcoming Staff. The Haggis Broth was superb. Great Period Atmosphere. Not a trendy place just a homely welcome. Guests were of all ages. Steps up to bar on first floor a bit of a nuisance, but it's an Old Hotel.

As others have commented, this area of the world isn't well served by the usual stopover chains and every B&B we tried seem to be fully booked "because of the Commonwealth Games", so we ended up here on our way up to the Highlands. Good points: 1) the girl on Reception was welcoming, knew who we were and had filled... More

We stayed here on our way up to Aviemore, only ourselves and one wedding party staying due to proximity to Gretna. Comfortable and cosy rooms with everything you would expect available, lovely breakfast in the morning ( Although we hadn't realised we had booked a room with breakfast included, certainly a pleasant surprise ) Only criticism is we believed to... Stayed here one night for wedding reception in the hotel. Room nice size, comfortable bed with fluffy pillows. Problem with lack of hot water for shower but think this was due to hotel full of wedding guests. Friendly staff. Comfortable enough, nothing special but much better than friends experience with hotel across the road!

I paid £59 for a family room. It was clean & the bathroom was in good working order. It was a Friday evening and we'd booked in for a stopover en route to the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. I agree with one of the other reviewers that things got a little noisy around closing time & didn't really quieten down... More

I want this review to be as honest as I can on my experience, and therefore I felt let down staying here as I remember this hotel from years ago and always thought it was ok, however it looks nice from the outside but needs a lot of TLC on the main entrance going up the stairs, and I understand...
