First, the good. Polite and friendly owners. Good cooked breakfast. Quiet and well situated for a 2 minute walk to Annan, High street, and a minute to the Railway Station or local Swimming Pool. A comfortable TV/Lounge area with a good library selection. The Hotel appeared clean and had a well laid out dining room. Now, the not-so-good. We had... More

Thank you for taking the time and trouble for such a comprehensive review. We are sorry that you thought your room, and all of the linen had an odour that you found distasteful. We cannot explain this and wish that you had said something when you were here. We could then have investigated. Perhaps during this very humid weather, you... More

On road parking to the front of the house, the room was clean and equipped with tea making facilities, located within walking distance of the high street shops where there is a chip shop and café, tv signal and wi fi were good. The reason I gave this only a 3 out of 5 was that the toilet pan in... More

Friendly people the owners, Good breakfast, Tired rooms, pathetic shower (just a dribble- no pressure). Awful bed. Two of us stayed to fish the Annan river based on reviews read. Nothing wrong with the place, clean, food OK and the owners friendly. Nothing to make it stand out or excellent though. I asked the owner about my shower and she... More

Booked after reading reviews on here and needing a regular place to stay for work. Friendly welcome and a lovely quiet room! Great advice on local eateries! Hassle free from booking to stay and a lovely breakfast with great thick bacon!

So this was just a quick overnight stay whilst working away, selected via an internet search. On arrival, lovely old building and a very friendly welcome. Room was large, warm and comfortable, perhaps not the most deluxe, however when balanced against the overnight rate it represented good value. Breakfast choice was ample and very tasty. In summary, good hosts, clean... More

My mum and I had made a special trip up to see the River Annan where my late father used to fish and we stayed at Rowanbank for one night. The location was perfect right by the station and river, rooms were lovely. I had a double poster bed which was stunning. Steven and his wife were lovely and couldn't... More

Our family visit to Annan was most enjoyable.Rowanbank was a short walk from the railway station which was very good. The accommodation for a family was excellent as was the guests lounge. Great to see the model railway and have interesting conversations with the owners.Breakfast was of a good standard.

We were booked in for two nights, the room was lovely and the hosts were very friendly. However we were not impressed by Annan. The town seemed very rough and has a distinct lack of decent places to eat or even have a quiet drink. We left after the first night. However we could not fault the service provided at... More

We are pleased that you enjoyed your room and our hospitality. But it is a shame that your experience was spoiled because Annan did not live up to your expectations. However, as we had recommended there are some great restaurants and pubs here - check out the Trip Advisor reviews! More

We were visiting my Family in Annan and stayed here for 4 nights. The room was huge and very clean. Plenty of room for the 3 of us. Breakfast was great. The owners could not have been more helpful. Pleasure to stay here and will stay again next time we come for a family visit.
