Laurel Villa came highly recommended by friends of ours and we were not disappointed! Our stay was fantastic and Geraldine and Eugene couldn't be nicer or more accommodating! Their home is beautiful with everything designed for your comfort and interest. Geraldine's breakfasts are amazing particularly her homemade scones. We couldn't get enough of those and she made sure we had... More

We spent our last evening before sailing back to Scotland in this amazing Guest House. It was indeed far more than just very comfortable accommodation and lovely food. It was a wonderful experience! The hosts, Gerardine and Eugene are rightly proud to share their beautiful home with their guests and the welcome is indeed very warm. The house is themed... More

Four of us recently stayed in the beautiful and unique home of Eugene & Geraldine (Laurel Villa). We received the warmest of welcomes when we arrived, even thought we were very early. The breakfast and the home made baking were exceptional, which was served in their beautiful dining room. The attention to detail overall was 100% We hope to return... More

Our son and daughter in law got married last Friday, and the wedding party stayed at Laurel Villa. It was just perfect Gerardine and Eugene could not have done more for us ! They just made the day so special. From the extra strawberries with the champagne to allowing us in early to get dressed. The rooms and gardens are... More

Last Saturday my two English visitors and I had an exquisite lunch at Laurel Villa followed by a fascinating bespoke tour of Heaney Country conducted by Eugene Kielt. Our substantial, mouth-watering lunch, prepared specially by Geraldine, was served in their gracious dining room where we were surrounded by many interesting artefacts, mostly connected to Seamus Heaney. After a tour of... More

Spent a short but memorable stay at this lovely guesthouse recently. Eugene and Gerardine are perfect hosts who pay special attention to their guests without being intrusive. This elegant home is filled with the works of Irish poets, with each room displaying the work of a different writer. Breakfast is delicious, and as a bonus, Eugene will assist with genealogy... More

We had an absolutely gorgeous Afternoon Tea. It was served in a beautiful dining room by the very frienly owners. We can really recommend it and we come back if we visit this part of Northern Ireland again.

My husband and I had reservations for the night in another town, but when the windshield wipers on our rental car quit working in the middle of a downpour, we were forced to stop for the night in Magherafelt. We happened to stop just beside the Laurel Villa, and we are so glad that fate stepped in the way it... More

I had afternoon tea at Laurel Villa guesthouse on Saturday past and it was second to none! From the minute we arrived, we were made very welcome into this characterful guest house. The afternoon tea was served in the dining room, a beautifully presented room with many items of interest, including several of Seamus Heaney's poems adorning the walls. Fresh... More
