At very short notice I booked a twin room so that I could take my dad to the Goodwood Festival of Speed. We travelled from Sheffield, a four hour drive and were greeted by friendly bar staff and locals. The twin room, unfortunately had a four poster bed, but it was just a place to sleep for a few hours.... More

There in the hottest week of the year and my room was cool and comfortable. Nicely styled with brass bed. Ensuite bathroom, tea and coffee facilities and if you're lucky, a visit from the landlords extremely friendly labrodor dogs. I'd opened my window and they soon popped their heads in to say hello. The pub was also very nice, steeped... More

Stayed here after a wedding, the staff were friendly but our room although big enough had broken lock's so we wen't able to secure our items or ourselves as we slept. the lights didn't work and we had to get the manager to fix them and because it was so dark at night i fell down the stairs leading from... A group of 14 stayed at the Swan for a night while visiting Sussex and all of us enjoyed our stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable, excellent soft pillows, and the supper simple and well cooked. We were welcomed very warmly, and nothing was too much trouble, even to the extent of carefully packing and returning the ipad I left... More

We didn't have the most welcoming of arrivals. The corridors smelt a bit funky, our room was absolutely tiny and the bathroom was a throw back to the 70s! The bed was really creeky and the water pipes were noisy all night! Breakfast was pretty tasty - however the owner 'forgot' to tell us what time it finished and we... More

We went on Wednesday which was the inaurgural night of fish night and just yum! We had the fruits de mer platter and it was almost too much! lovely service, very engaging staff and dogs are allowed in the bar area, which is very accommodating and homely (with a very attractive pub garden with grass which was good for our... Most surreal visit to this place. We have been here a few times over the years. The last time we visited was 2 or 3 years ago, so I don't know if the owner's have changed. The food then was okay at best, reminded my of the style pubs out of the 70's/80's. It was supposed to be a special... More

Dear Sir, Thank you for your comments, despite your claims that we were quiet and had plenty of tables available and the unpleasant manner, rudeness and attitude towards myself I would like to explain as to why you were unable to get a table. Bank holiday Monday we were extremely busy producing over 100 home cooked fresh meals for happy... More

We popped down to The Swan on Saturday evening for a bar meal. They were in a panic because a large group had just come into the restaurant and wouldn't let us order any food. We had a drink and after about 20 minutes or so asked again if we could order some food. We were told that we might... More

Whilst we are sorry we were unable to accommodate you on a busy Saturday night, and it is always a regret to turn custom away , our expected bookings must come first. We do encourage customers to book for the weekends to avoid this situation arising. We are proud to be reviewed by yourself along with The Cottage Tandoori in... More
