We were thrilled to stay at the Squirrel Inn in October! We found it delightful! It has a great deal of character as it was built about 500 years ago - a few creaks and strange angles, but it has history. Our room was comfortable, clean and quiet. The included breakfast was great - juice, coffee, cereal, eggs, bacon and... More

We met our children and grandson for what was supposed to be a lovely family lunch last Saturday but instead had a dreadful meal served to us. The waitress was lovely, very polite and efficient, the restaurant pleasant enough but there the good comments end. Three starters were ordered which were ok if expensive for the quantities served so I... More

We started our (2 hour) Wey Valley walk from here and returned to an excellent lunch. The staff were very helpful and the beer is good too.. They have accommodation and it is a good location (beside the A3 with good access north and south) but we did not stay there.

The Squirrel is an ideal venue for reunions. A large comforatable restaurant that easily seated our group of 14. Food was very good, best to order in advance to ensure good service. Menu was comprehensive and prices competitive

We stayed for one night and I wouldn't recommend this place. The bright spot was the staff who were friendly and helpful but the food was just OK and the accommodation was bad. For the price it is unacceptable. We had a ground floor room with a toilet in what looked like a cupboard with no window and no extractor.... More

Chose this venue for an overnight stay.......wish we hadn't! What a disappointment.......room clean but could not swing a cat in it.......the toilet and shower also very tiny.....no soap, dirty carpets and most annoyingly were the creaky floorboards.....thank goodness we were on the top floor.......the people staying below must have found it very annoying!!! Breakfast was egg and bacon, no frills,... More

The accommodation was provided in refurbished 16th Century Cottages that were full of character but also had a couple of problems. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was very good given that it was advertised as continental only – they did great bacon rolls! Also, the pub offers a good range of beers... More

Stayed over for one night at the Inn. It is very easy to find, in a very good location - just off the A3. Our rooms were in a separate block and were very homely. We had our evening meal in the restaurant and were joined by friends who live nearby. All of the food was excellent - meat, fish,... More

Having only made a reservation earlier that day found everything about this establishment completely delightful. After a ridiculously long day at work all I wanted to do was end up somewhere comfortable to crash that was still serving food and both those requirements were truly exceeded. Having left my satnav at home the Manager patiently directed me to the site... More

We stayed for 1 night at a cost of £85. From the outside the hotel and pub looks attractive. But once inside reveals a totally different picture. The room we were in (no.6) was up a tiny narrow flight of stairs. Low ceilings, squeaky floorboard and a dreadfully small toilet and shower. Dirty carpets and a bed that make a... More
