From the moment the 4 of us arrived at The Manor House apart from loving the hotel and the surrounding area the staff could not have been more helpful. Unfortunately my husband had hurt his back so the first thing I asked at reception was if we could change our double room for a twin. The chap on reception advised... More

Hello Karen P and thank you for taking the time to write this nice review of the Manor House. Word had reached me about your husband's bad back. There is nothing worse and I am pleased that your husband managed to stay out of hospital. I am equally pleased that the team here took the initiative and did everything they... More

My partner and I were quite surprised to see what a great hotel this was! We only stopped over for a night, but wish we had longer and will definitely look into visiting again. The room was brilliant; it was a nice, big space and the back wall was all window which allowed good light in to the room. The... More

Hello Anthony F and thank you for reviewing your recent stay at the Manor House. It sounds like you had a good stay and enjoyed your visit. It sounds like you stayed in one of the rooms in the extension which are a bit larger than average, and have a big picture window that both lets in plenty of light... More

Set in a picturesque old building this hotel has a lot to offer. For me the biggest feature is the quiet rooms. I stayed in the new 'wing" which is under the hotel and set into a bank so that you still have views out of the countryside. The staff are super friendly and helpful and really go the extra... More

Hello corkboy65 and thank you for reviewing the Manor House following your recent stay. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and found your room peaceful. The rooms you describe have a Scandinavian feel to the decor and offer nice views over the lawns and gardens at the back of the hotel. There's also a patio door, so you... More

I guess this review will be of limited use to most visitors because I didn't make full use of the hotel. I was travelling alone for business and needed a place to stay local to the location of an early Monday meeting. The location was very quiet and my room had a lovely view. The room was a little warm... More

Hello Caroline M and thank you for taking the time to write your review of the Manor House. I am pleased that you had a pleasant stay with us and that you enjoyed the peace and quiet of the area. All our rooms are quiet. Some, like yours, overlook the front of the building. Those upstairs at the rear have... More

I discovered this hotel by chance as I was searching for somewhere to stay at the last minute to go to the FOS at Goodwood, what a find! This beat all my expectations! A stunning looking property and helpful staff. The interior was modern , comfortable and calm. The young man on reception was welcoming and soon sorted out some... More

Hello pearce14 and thank you for taking the time to write a review of your stay at the Manor House when you were visiting Goodwood last weekend. The enthusiastic noises aside, I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay. As you say, the bedrooms upstairs in the old house have fantastic views over the Surrey hills, over which, if you... More

The hotel is clean and rooms are well equipped and comfortable. The breakfast is plentiful, very well cooked and the staff are helpful and polite. However we found that the evening staff at the hotel are not of the same standard! We appeared to be more of an inconvenience to the night receptionist who was accompanied by a man who... More

Stayed here on business as a single female and the staff were super and extremely helpful. Supposedly haunted but who really knows, a building with character and history but evetuuthing clean and modern too. Seems there is a fabulous view from the back of the hotel but will check out on my next visit. Breakfast included and check out the... More

This was the first time I stayed here and I will return. The check-in was misleading as the reception area is a bit dated but the room was great. I stayed at the back of the hotel on the ground floor and the room was huge! The only thing I feel they could improve on is the size of the... More

I've now used the Manor House at Godalming several times for business meetings since March 2014. Really excellent staff and service who can't do enough. Several friends have stayed here since and couldn't fault the place. So much easier than trying to get in and out of Guildford!

Had a meeting booked here and stayed over the night before. Spacious room which was comfortable enough. Nothing to make it stand out, but certainly nothing to complain about. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Manor House is an award-winning conference centre and hotel in Godalming, that offers excellent meeting facilities and comfortable hotel accommodation in the picturesque Surrey Hills. Eleven flexible conference rooms, 31 tranquil bedrooms and a range of on-site conference facilities provide guests with the ideal setting for a variety of events. There are 31 en-suite double bedrooms in all – a traditional feel, recently refurbished, in the old house; Scandinavian design in the award-winning extension. Whatever your style, you will find everything you need at hand and the bedrooms calm, peaceful places in which to unwind, many with fabulous views across the surrounding Surrey countryside. The bedrooms are also geared for business, with plenty of well-lit desk space and a direct dial telephone to hand. High speed internet access is available free of charge and free wi-fi is accessible both in the bedrooms and throughout the building. Other business services such as photocopying and fax are also on site. We know that after a long day, tired minds need time to unwind. The gym offers a good range of cardiovascular resistance equipment and weights and there are separate ladies' and gents' saunas. Guests can also stroll around the peaceful grounds and there is a range of garden games available for sunny days. There is a small wooded area to explore and walks through the local countryside. It's important to eat well, so at the Manor House, the emphasis is on cooking tasty food that is fresh and seasonal, using ingredients that are grown or supplied locally. We also like to look after the basics and where we can, we buy ingredients that are sustainably produced, organic or Fairtrade. We also know that choice is important and offer plenty of options, from healthy snacks that will maintain your energy levels throughout the day, to special menus for those with specific allergies or diets. We are also approved by the Vegetarian Society. And when it is time to relax, Smiths bar & lounge offers somewhere to enjoy a quiet drink with a good book – or carry on networking and socialising with friends or colleagues. If you need to meet, the meeting rooms at the Manor House are not the bland, impersonal spaces you find in some hotels and conference venues. Whilst our focus is firmly on providing conference facilities for corporate customers, the Manor House is full of the character and charm you might expect from a country hotel. Meeting rooms all have natural daylight and many have stunning views or beautiful features such as old fireplaces, paneling or intricate plasterwork. And if you want to add a little extra to your conference, we have a meeting room specially designed to help creative thinking and can help with team building activities from treasure hunts to duck herding!Locally, if you do get a chance to go and explore, there's quite a list of places worth a visit including Denbies Vineyard, England's largest, Loseley House, the RHS gardens aat Wisley and Polesdon Lacey. Closer to home, a short walk away, Godalming is a picturesque market town with a pretty high street and a small selection of shops, whilst nearby Guildford is a busy, affluent town with great shops, restaurants and entertainment. Hop on the train and you can be there in 10 minutes. ... more   less
