On first impression you think you will get an amazing experience. We were at a wedding nearby and this was on the suggested list. My husband asked if he could check in early and leave the bags but was told flatly no!!! We checked in late at 12.30pm and were greeted by a very rude check in Clerk who obviously... More

We stayed here in one of the modern business rooms. It was clean and well equipped. The view was onto a lawn and trees. There was a well equipped gym which was free to use. Wifi was free and worked well. Breakfast was served in the older part of the house with was charming. Hot and cold breakfast was available... More

Very attractive building just outside Godalming about 15 minutes walk from town centre with many bars and restaurants. Recommend The Wharf for a good Indian meal. Some rooms are modern business hotel type but adequate with good facilities. Staff very helpful and friendly. Lovely and quiet and pleasant bar with attractive outside sitting areas. Breakfast very good and would certainly... More

I stayed with my partner for a Saturday night in August. The hotel is delightful from the outside; very promising indeed! The entrance hall is beautiful (apart from the huge photocopier immediately inside the front door) and the lady of reception was very pleasant and polite. However, on handing us the keys to room 10 she said "you have a... More

We stayed here for a wedding that was held in Guildford in August, and I can't begin to tell you how happy we were! The building itself is gorgeous and well, it's just plain fun to stay in a place with so much character! We would giggle everytime we locked or unlocked our door with the old fashioned key, and... I stayed here for many nights on business between January and March 2014 - I always opted for one of the modern rooms at the rear of the hotel on the lower ground floor - they have doors and windows opening up onto your own private little terrace overlooking woodland. I'm sure the main manor house bedrooms are good, though.... More

Hello kevinfff and thank you for taking the time to review your visits to the Manor House. I am pleased that you liked it enough to return so many times. It sounds as if you preferred staying in the rooms downstairs - they are exactly as you describe and with the current sunny weather, they're public for letting a cool... More

From the moment the 4 of us arrived at The Manor House apart from loving the hotel and the surrounding area the staff could not have been more helpful. Unfortunately my husband had hurt his back so the first thing I asked at reception was if we could change our double room for a twin. The chap on reception advised... More

My partner and I were quite surprised to see what a great hotel this was! We only stopped over for a night, but wish we had longer and will definitely look into visiting again. Set in a picturesque old building this hotel has a lot to offer. For me the biggest feature is the quiet rooms. I stayed in the new 'wing" which is under the hotel and set into a bank so that you still have views out of the countryside. The staff are super friendly and helpful and really go the extra... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Manor House is an award-winning conference centre and hotel in Godalming, that offers excellent meeting facilities and comfortable hotel accommodation in the picturesque Surrey Hills. Eleven flexible conference rooms, 31 tranquil bedrooms and a range of on-site conference facilities provide guests with the ideal setting for a variety of events. There are 31 en-suite double bedrooms in all – a traditional feel, recently refurbished, in the old house; Scandinavian design in the award-winning extension. Whatever your style, you will find everything you need at hand and the bedrooms calm, peaceful places in which to unwind, many with fabulous views across the surrounding Surrey countryside. The bedrooms are also geared for business, with plenty of well-lit desk space and a direct dial telephone to hand. High speed internet access is available free of charge and free wi-fi is accessible both in the bedrooms and throughout the building. Other business services such as photocopying and fax are also on site. We know that after a long day, tired minds need time to unwind. The gym offers a good range of cardiovascular resistance equipment and weights and there are separate ladies' and gents' saunas. Guests can also stroll around the peaceful grounds and there is a range of garden games available for sunny days. There is a small wooded area to explore and walks through the local countryside. It's important to eat well, so at the Manor House, the emphasis is on cooking tasty food that is fresh and seasonal, using ingredients that are grown or supplied locally. We also like to look after the basics and where we can, we buy ingredients that are sustainably produced, organic or Fairtrade. We also know that choice is important and offer plenty of options, from healthy snacks that will maintain your energy levels throughout the day, to special menus for those with specific allergies or diets. We are also approved by the Vegetarian Society. And when it is time to relax, Smiths bar & lounge offers somewhere to enjoy a quiet drink with a good book – or carry on networking and socialising with friends or colleagues. If you need to meet, the meeting rooms at the Manor House are not the bland, impersonal spaces you find in some hotels and conference venues. Whilst our focus is firmly on providing conference facilities for corporate customers, the Manor House is full of the character and charm you might expect from a country hotel. Meeting rooms all have natural daylight and many have stunning views or beautiful features such as old fireplaces, paneling or intricate plasterwork. And if you want to add a little extra to your conference, we have a meeting room specially designed to help creative thinking and can help with team building activities from treasure hunts to duck herding!Locally, if you do get a chance to go and explore, there's quite a list of places worth a visit including Denbies Vineyard, England's largest, Loseley House, the RHS gardens aat Wisley and Polesdon Lacey. Closer to home, a short walk away, Godalming is a picturesque market town with a pretty high street and a small selection of shops, whilst nearby Guildford is a busy, affluent town with great shops, restaurants and entertainment. Hop on the train and you can be there in 10 minutes. ... more   less
