Booked months ago for a family wedding.Confirmed the night before.Nothing like the photos! Scruffy building, sign fallen down.Tacky interior. On arrival staff didn't know we were coming! Staff spoke little English and seemed confused generally.Bathroom grouting was mouldy, not only in the shower but on the floor tiles also and it smelt of drains. Bath mat was tatty and old. Only one pillow... More

Had to wait to be let in and then hardly a warm welcome, he didn't even say hello. just shoved the card machine at me and put the room keys on the table. I could have done with some help with my luggage but he just walked off and left me to struggle. I got woken at 2 am by... More

The Godalming "Hotel" is the worst "hotel" that I have ever stayed in. The previous trip advisor review which states that their welcome from a gentleman who couldn't speak English thrusting a card machine in their face was the exact experience we had...and it didn't get any better. The window in our bedroom did not lock shut, you could just... More

We stayed here and it was appalling, we were greeted by someone who could not speak English he just showed us the card machine, we had booked but they had no record of it, the room was GRIM, if we weren't going to a function within the hour we would not have stayed, the shower was disgusting, the water didn't... We booked a Saturday night stay in this hotel and have to admit was pleasantly surprised! We were greeted in the 'reception area' and, as many other people have reported, it was requested that we fill in a form and pay for the room. We stayed in Room 2, which was on the ground floor, towards the back of the... More

The leaflet described this as a Boutique Hotel. Boutique it wasn't! The décor in the reception area was lurid Hong Kong gone wild. We were scarcely welcomed at a scruffy table and immediately asked to pay in full. Our room delivered a bed covered in a thin polyester duvet, and one pillow each. The bathroom light wasn't working. Opening the... More

After ringing on the doorbell 3 times the door was eventually answered by a polite, but nervous, sweaty man who asked us to fill in a form and immediately took our money. We then discovered we'd been given a twin room, rather than the room we booked. A conversation with the manager over the phone sorted out this problem and... More

This is a converted house with character. The staff were welcoming and unobtrusive. Breakfast was good. I was in single room which while a little tight for space was very clean and comfortable. The room has all the services you would expect. The hotel is well located for train stations, just a brisk 10 minute walk from Farncombe. Godalming village... More

Definitely no warm welcome when arriving 10 o'clock in the evening. Room was on the second floor, no offer of bags being carried up. Room was small but adequate (just). Only one towel, not even a hand towel and caused a dilemma in the morning when having a shower and hair wash! Breakfast was okay but there were no serviettes... More

My daughter and I stayed here for 6 days as a base for visiting friends and family. The room was small but adequate. Free wifi in the room. Car park at the back had very narrow access down side of hotel. The hotel seemed to be run by 1 young man who was always on duty whenever we were there.... More
