We found The Mill on Trip Advisor and were impresses by the previous reviews, and weren't disappointed. From the moment we arrived we were made very welcome by Louise, our room was very comfortable (the Millwrights loft) and the breakfasts were wonderful - especially the home made bread, made with flour from the mill. We later met Steve who was... More

Ended up here after a day at Cheddar Gorge, there are a few pubs around which we tried, Great location and very good quiet room. It was just what we were looking for. Especially liked having bread made from the mill for breakfast. Thanks.

Very friendly and helpful service throughout our stay. Nice bedroom, let down by shower room which was cold (no heating) and quite mouldy with a very small shower cubicle. Delicious breakfast with very good choices served in a lovely room. A very good stay overall.

Thanks for your review. I am sorry that you felt the en-suite shower room let down the experience. The room you booked is one of our smallest doubles, we do have several larger rooms although they were probably already booked as we were very full that weekend in half-term. I agree that the shower room does have some mould patches... More

We were attending a Christmas concert at Wells Cathedral and wanted somewhere to stay on a bed and breakfast basis. I booked on line and then spoke to Steve French to confirm and pay the deposit. The process was very straight forward and Steve also sent an e-mail with further useful information and directions. We arrived on a dark and... More

I've stayed at the Burcott Mill in September in a B&B room. This time my wife and I and our three children stayed in the self catering room. However we paid extra for breakfast one if the days. I booked over the phone and paid by card. Everything went smoothly. The room was clean and adequately furnished. The TV for... More

I needed to go walkabout on my own and decided to go somewhere I had never been! I really couldn't have chosen anywhere nicer. The location is wonderful. The mill makes its own organic flour which I have since made bread with and I can say it is superb! Its just opposite a lovely pub that's been there since time... More

I can only speak for Americans looking for a place in/near Wells, but my search led to the Burcott Mill and I am happy it did. There are a handful of favorite places that for me define visits to Wells. The Chapterhouse and stairs in the Cathedral, the Black Dog of Wells, the Fountain Inn- and now the Burcott Mill... More

What a fabulous B&B! Lovely room (incredibly comfortable bed) a warm welcome, delicious breakfast and a great location to explore the Mendips. Fascinating to see a working water mill as well. Looking forward to using the flour we picked up. Highly recommend!

The only reason I'm giving this B&B a "very good" is because I had spent the previous night is a B&B with the most comfortable bed. Apart from that, everything was good. Their home made bread was excellent. Got to see the old mill in operation. They have flour for sale too. 5 minute drive from Wells. Has a pub... More

We have recently spent four nights in the Stable Suite, and loved every minute of our stay. From the moment we arrived we found the owners, Steve and Louise, friendly and excellent hosts. The breakfasts were great with a lot of choice, with lovely fresh bread (especially the Spelt Bread). The room has been thoughtfully decorated and furnished to a high... More
