We visited in November, the night of Wells carnival. After driving around for a while we stumbled across The Wookey Hole Inn. The staff were very friendly and the young man who was our waiter was very attentive, nothing was to much trouble. The food we ordered was superb, one of the best meals we have ever had. Portion sizes... More

Well that is the motto chalked up outside. Well I certainly found peace and great food and it was pretty loving. A good selection of beers and ciders and wines. The food is always good on the times that I have eaten there. The specials are usually the lunch menu but sometimes there are interesting additions such as partridge. I... More

The food was amazing, the haddock had the crispiest, lightes batter I've ever had, and my fiancé's steak, although expensive, was well worth the money. Good beer, very friendly service. All in all a great evening. We even had an atmospheric power cut for a few seconds which added to the evening...

Stayed for the night on the 18th. Arrived quite late and there was a birthday bash in progress and the place was very busy, the staff still managed to attend to us quickly and were very friendly. The manager/owner showed us to our room which was fantastic, no corporate box this - all very individual and comfy, even had a... More

I'm an indecisive food buyer, if I have a bad trait then that's it's, I have to look at a menu at least a day before...I decide what I want and then I change my mind at the last minute, that's what I do...so when the bar staff unexpectedly told me upon arrival that I would have to change menu... We stopped for food on Friday & we were welcomed as a family and the food was amazing!! I would have been happy to have kids menu as that was amazing too. We were so impressed that when we were given the bill we booked for Sunday lunch. The Sunday lunch starter, mains & desert for £20 and well worth... More

Had the most amazing meal at this Inn, our meals were fantastic, we had eaten on the 2 previous days at jamies 15 and rick steins at Padstow, and I have to say the chef here is amazing. Lovely staff, relaxed friendly ambience. 5 stars all the way. Style very eclectic so interesting.

What a tremendous find! Came across it more or less by accident, and we are so glad we did! Helpful staff, quirky rooms, good food and Somerset cider. If you want a sterile chain hotel this is not for you. If you want a bit of character, - what are you waiting for?

We have eaten at this inn infrequently for the past 10 years and I can honestly say that I have never been less than 100% happy. Our last visit was to see Robert Plant at Glastonbury Abbey and, as everything in and around was fully booked we arranged to stay here for the Saturday and Sunday night, as well as... More

Another great weekend, they never fail to impress. The food is excellent as always and the staff are so friendly its like home form home only better. Light airy rooms, so comfortable and clean. I plan to go back for bank holiday weekend.
