Stopped at the Station Inn with my son while completing the 3 Peaks. We stayed in the bunk barns which were basic but excellent value for money with superb views of Whernside. Needless to say we were both starving after completing the 3 peaks and after a quick shower we had a few beers and some excellent pub food (I... More

My husband and I stayed at The Station last week for one night. As we were doing all 3 peaks over 2 days, this pub was perfectly placed for an overnight stay for us. The room (number 7) was very spacious and very comfortable with a welcoming chocolate for each of us, lovely fresh towels and plenty of soaps and... More

We had a really nice evening last night. The Station Inn has long been one of my favourite watering holes. Good beer, good food and a homely and welcoming atmosphere. They have recently changed to dining room to make it even nicer, fantastic views across the fells as you eat and drink. The place is unpretentious and 'does what it... More

This was a good place for a lads weekend as we were walking the 3 peaks. It was very low cost and this should be borne in mind when making the booking as the accomodation is very basic. If you're after something cheap and cheerful, then this will do you fine.

My brother booked the small bunk barn for one night as 6 of us (4 adults, 2 children) were going to attempt the three peaks (2 adults doing all 3 and 2 adults, 2 children doing one). He had booked the larger bunk barn for the following night as further family were to join us. On arrival the staff were... More

Very, very shocked to read some poor reviews of the Station Inn as we have just returned from a very happy and comfortable weekend there. The staff were delightful and very efficient. The food was excellent, clearly homemade and very plentiful. Our room was clean, comfortable and had glorious views over Whernside and the viaduct. The pub was busy and... More

Just returned home from 2 nights in one of the bunk barns, to say the accommodation was basic would be an understatement. I was not expecting luxury but shocked with the lack of pride in the whole place. Accommodation; boiler not working and was freezing. The bunk beds were not adult size so extremely uncomfortable if your over 5'10. The... More

Many, many years ago, I stayed at the Bunk Barn beside the Station Inn. This time, I thought I'd sample life inside the inn. Check-in was efficient, but cheerless, and I was asked for my breakfast choice straight away. The website promised 'newly refurbished rooms', but they actually looked rather shabby, and any repainting looked like it was done in... More

We regularly visit this lovely area. Yet, each time, we are faced with this drab pub. The owners could make so much more of it but the tables are sticky, the food is BAD with rip-off pricing for worse-than-usual pub grub. The staff are the most Unfriendly bunch and the last faces you would want to see after a long... More
