The cottage was lovely, very clean and newly decorated, we could quite happily have moved in! There was parking and it was calm and quiet – very relaxing. A travel cot was provided for baby and we didn’t find anything lacking (hairdryer and towels provided, well equipped little kitchen, TV tuned in, toiletries, etc). There was free wi-fi. In the... Although there are steps to climb to reach the apartment, this did not detract from the loveliness of the place. It was clean and warm, with running hot water, and the rooms were reasonably large for a holiday cottage. The facilities included a full modern kitchen with a Washing machine with automatic drying included, and one bathroom with a shower.... More

Everything you could possibly want for a holiday was here. The cottage we stayed in (Wharfedale) was excellent, beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean. The countryside around was amazing and the forbidden corner was surprising and entertaining. Close to lots of other attractions too. The cafe served lovely food. Very quiet, peaceful, relaxing holiday.

Just had a fabulous 7 night stay in the swaledale cottage. The cottage was much bigger than expected and spotlessly clean, it had everything and more that we needed for our week long stay. We went to the pie night in the saddle room and it was gorgeous so were the chips !!! Also had a full English breakfast which... More

Another great stay at Forbidden Corner stayed in the Littondale cottage with family next door in Wharfdale. The addition of The Saddle Room enhanced stay even more and we enjoyed Curry Night and a bar meal which were well presented and very tasty! The cottages have lots of room and are finished to a high standard. The shrieks of children... More

Visited the Saddle Rooms last month and had the chance to stay in one of the beautifully developed coat ages. The rooms were comfortable, the beds wonderful. The fixtures and fittings were more than adequate than expected. Already booked to stay again in October.

I love The Forbidden Corner attraction and this prompted me to stay in the holiday cottages on two occasions. My first visit was over Easter 2012 and my most recent visit was in July 2014. On both occasions I have stayed in Coverdale. The cottage is cosy and contains everything necessary for a comfortable stay. The bedding and towels are... More

Many thanks for taking the time to post a review on TA. Totally agree on the Sofa we already have this planned in to change this year and get rid of the sofa bed. I will have a look at the possibility of a bath in this property however we did put a very spacious shower room in last year... More

This was our second stay at The Forbidden Corner, with the cottages now being under new management. Once again our holiday was wonderful and Jane could not have been more welcoming on our arrival, we additionally sampled the food at The Stable Door restaurant, which was lovely and I would highly recommend a visit. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean... More

Just returned home after 5 days in this lovely cottage for 2. Very spacious, light and comfy in delightful surroundings. Walking (short or long) directly from the doorstep, with some wonderful scenery. Lots of eateries (and horses) only 2 miles away in Middleham, or a bit further afield in Leyburn, as well as the new Stables bar and restaurant on... More

Back for our fourth stay and the whole Forbidden Corner project just keeps on improving. Littondale further improved from last year with some original artworks; these really are wonderfully well appointed cottages and so warm and cosy. Forbidden Corner itself further enhanced with the scary mausoleum and my 6 year old daughter loves the place no matter how many times... More
