This was our second stay at The Forbidden Corner, with the cottages now being under new management. Once again our holiday was wonderful and Jane could not have been more welcoming on our arrival, we additionally sampled the food at The Stable Door restaurant, which was lovely and I would highly recommend a visit. The cottage itself was spotlessly clean... More

Just returned home after 5 days in this lovely cottage for 2. Very spacious, light and comfy in delightful surroundings. Walking (short or long) directly from the doorstep, with some wonderful scenery. Lots of eateries (and horses) only 2 miles away in Middleham, or a bit further afield in Leyburn, as well as the new Stables bar and restaurant on... More

Back for our fourth stay and the whole Forbidden Corner project just keeps on improving. Littondale further improved from last year with some original artworks; these really are wonderfully well appointed cottages and so warm and cosy. Forbidden Corner itself further enhanced with the scary mausoleum and my 6 year old daughter loves the place no matter how many times... More

We stayed in the newly refurbished Wharfedale cottage which accommodates 4 adults and 2 children. The double room has an ensure which leaves the family bathroom to the two twin rooms. There is also a downstairs loo, so plenty of conveniences! The cottage is gorgeous, we fell in love with it, from it's underfloor heating to the cosy beds to... More

This was our third stay at the Forbidden Corner, this time at the brand new Littondale cottage, and definitely our best. Cottage and three spacious bedrooms a beautiful kitchen and large lounge with two sofas and flatscreen tv. Heating incredibly efficient in keeping the cottage cosy at all times. You have to drive to Carlton or Middleham to eat out... More

Dear Guest Many thanks for the Review. I am really pleased you enjoyed the visit to us and yes the under floor heating makes a real difference especially in the winter months. Point taken on the "upgrades” needed .... We have a meeting next week for our yearly inspections and Maintenance which are done in January because it’s quiet and... More

Very pretty holiday cottage in the grounds of Tupgill park with the forbidden corner attraction right next to it. The prices are good for such a big cottage but I disagree with other reviewers about the cottage being spotless (clean yes but not spotless, the carpet in the hall and kitchen diner is much as you would expect in family... Hi Many thanks for taking the time to review the Forbidden Corner Cottages. There are some really good comments and I thank you for that. The gate you refered to was next to this accommodation and we have ordered a turnstile instead so this will mean the gate banging a thing of the past! The washer is actually a dryer... More

We spent 3 nights in the lovely 2 bed Nidderdale apartment. It is small but perfectly lovely. It had a small dining kitchen, a small lounge and two beds. One with bunks ( which the kids loved) and a nice double. The cottage also had a shower room. It was beautifully clean, nicely furnished and well equipped. We were lucky... More
