A very friendly hotel with a cosy bar selling good value and very tasty food with an ambience and cosiness to make all feel welcome. The Crown has become our venue of choice whenever visiting Helmsley. more

The place was freezing. When we complained the heating went on for a very short time and then off. People were eating breakfast (satisfactory) with top coats on. We stayed at the Crown for one night and payed £10 each for two small well behaved dogs on top of the £90 B&B rate, only to be told on arrival that they were allowed nowhere in the hotel other than an area laughingly called the conservatory, which was next to the foul smelling gents toilets, as was our room!... more
