We had a really lovely one night stay at the Feathers. The staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Our room was in an annexe and was large, clean, quiet and had everything we could have wished for. Breakfast was great - lots of choice and very fresh. For the price we couldn't have had better.

My wife and I are fans of the Feathers, having eaten there many times in the past (usually lunchtimes), and have never been disappointed. On the advice of a friend who had previously stayed there, we decided on the Feathers for our two night (Sat/Sun) stay. I booked on-line and paid by Paypal. Simple. The one thing which worried me... Great Sunday carvery here but I would advise booking as it does get busy but this goes to show how popular it is. People were very friendly and food was hot and good selection - would definitely visit again

We only had a couple of drinks here but we liked the atmosphere and the friendliness of the barman. It is located on the main square of this delightful North Yorkshire town. We would love to go back for a meal as the food being served looked and smelled very good

The Feathers will not suit if you like bland, uniform. chain type accommodation. If, however you appreciate good value, charm and old-fashioned high standards in aexcellent location with quality food and service - then look no further. Particularly Dog-friendly/welcoming which is a bonus. Will be back soon

Picturesque village and the hotel overlooks the village market square. We booked two rooms, a huge double that was actually a family 2 bedroom suite. Well furnished, comfortable, clean, plenty space, a rare commodity in some older hotels! The single room was nice too and overlooked the square. Pleasant breakfast. The frequently encountered stairs. Kind of lackadaisical staff who don't... More

Had a brief stay at the Feathers recently with my wife. The accommodation was first class and was finished off by a great breakfast. The hotel is in an ideal location situated in the square at Helmsley. When we left I foolishly left my ipad in the room and only realised when we returned home. We live an hours drive... More

The feathers is right on the market place which has loads of pay and display parking. The hotel has a small car park but watch out you don't get blocked in fir hours like I did . The staff were excellent, helpful and friendly and breakfast was good. However you need to watch out for weddings and noisy events ,... More

Have used this hotel for the past several years as a base when attending the local MAG 'Farm Yard Party' biker’s event. My wife hates to camp up at the event so this hotel is very handy!! The hotel is clean and tidy, rooms are spacious and well equipped although disappointingly this year the room we got this year did... More

Be careful which room you choose - me and my partner went for a night and were offered the choice of rooms - one at the front - small or larger one at the back - we chose the back for the space, but wouldn't like to spend more than one night there - room was lovely, great shower room... More
