The Wheatsheaf at Carperby is a typical country pub, there maybe a question mark on cost but that goes for any holiday destination offering unspoilt outdoors etc,so unless Wetherspoons are going to buy up most of the Dales pubs, sell beer at £1.99 a pint and offer an all day brecky at silly money!!!then we will happily pay a bit more for... If you want perfection, be prepared to spend a fortune and to be disappointed. If you want a comfortable room, keen and friendly staff, good food, reasonable prices, companionable fellow guests, convenient pub and access to wonderful walking country - then you could do a lot worse than The Wheatsheaf at greater expense. This location is convenient for exploring Wensleydale,... More

Great hotel and pub for exploring the Dales. Nice rooms, very friendly staff and pub food that is restaurant quality. Would recommend without hesitation and we'll definitely go back when we visit the Dales again.

We had booked a standard double room, however the room was really quite small, and we heard the pipes every time someone used the hot water, so i got next to no sleep, the bed was very uncomfortable, on the plus side everything was really clean. The staff was friendly, and the food was good from the bar, however the... More

Not bad value for the price but not somewhere we would revisit. The hotel is the only thing in Carperby and is about 2 miles from Aysgarth. Staff were friendly and helpful but we never met anyone who seemed to be in charge. Our Superior room was adequate but the double bed seemed small. Room was tidy but wasn't vacuumed... More

Thank you for your feedback on the Wheatsheaf. I am really pleased that you found us good value. I am extremely sorry that you felt there was no one strongly managing the Inn during your 4 night stay. My sister and myself own and manage the Inn and generally check inn all of our guests and tend the bar each... More

Food & drink was excellent, cant fault it at all. On day 2 of our 2nd day stay, most of the tables were reserved so we ate elsewhere. Location is lovely and is exactly what i wanted. The bedrooms where clean and presentable, enough refreshments for the both of us and the rooms were cleaned everyday. We both slept extremely... More

we stayed here for a couple of nights with our Labrador dog in April. We were surprised by how quiet it was given that the location was lovely and we were given a nice room looking out over the front of the hotel. Room was fine with comfortable bed and plenty of room for the three of us. The hotel... More

We stayed at the Wheatsheaf in Carperby on a Wowcher deal..excellent value for money. Slightly disappointed we were in the annexe and not the old part of the hotel but our room (12) was very adequate. Comfy bed, lots of hanging/drawer space, lovely views of the mountains from the bedroom window, good shower and very clean. Staff were friendly and... More
