Stayed here for 2 nights and it's a really nice place to stay. Rooms were spotless and large and bedding etc was all high quality. The food was lovely, both breakfasts and evening meals. Wifi is good downstairs but patchy in the bedrooms but this was not a problem. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Rooms are basic but clean, neat and tidy. A little expensive for what it is but the location and service help justify some of the cost. Wi-fi is available. Speed is good when no one is using it but tends to get dragged down at peak times (like most places). Food is excellent and very friendly, helpful staff take good... More

Stayed for two nights. The Wheatsheaf was a nice and friendly pub. The room was very clean and comfortable. Dined in the restsurant both nights as its a pretty remote place. Food was reasonably priced and good quality.

A two night Wowcher deal for £89. Amazing value as the included full English breakfasts were probably the best I've had - presented well on hot plates and with black pudding if you wanted. Chose the Wheatsheaf for the scenic location and wasn't disappointed with a 7 mile walk that included Aysgarth Falls and Bolton Castle. Less than 9 miles... More

We were staying near by on a break for a week. We tried plenty of pubs through out the yorkshire dales for lunch and dinner ect but we had a lovely evening meal here and went back a couple more times through out the rest of the week. Cracking food and great beer.

It's worth saying right now that I am an absolute Bill Wight/ James Herriot devotee, and I cannot understate the pleasure his books have given me. Bill wrote lovingly of the excellent food he had here, which he described as simple and wholesome. So on our way up to Scotland I decided we had to stop here and see if... More

Stayed 2 nights between Christmas & New Year.. Really can't fault. Very relaxing, lovely food, great staff.. I was really worried that the rooms were "pet friendly" I needn't have been as the room was spotless!!! Honestly can't say a bad word...
