we stayed here for a couple of nights with our Labrador dog in April. We were surprised by how quiet it was given that the location was lovely and we were given a nice room looking out over the front of the hotel. Room was fine with comfortable bed and plenty of room for the three of us. The hotel... More

We stayed at the Wheatsheaf in Carperby on a Wowcher deal..excellent value for money. Slightly disappointed we were in the annexe and not the old part of the hotel but our room (12) was very adequate. Comfy bed, lots of hanging/drawer space, lovely views of the mountains from the bedroom window, good shower and very clean. Staff were friendly and... More

Just returned from a 2 night Woucher deal Stayed in room 5. Plenty of wardrobe and drawer space. Two windows looked out to the mountains. Bathroom very modern with plenty of towels, and toiletries. Ample tea, coffee, hot chocolate and milk. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, well presented. The dining room at breakfast was full but service was quick. Excellent staff... More

the food and beer was good but that is all I can say about this hotel - the room had very little hanging or drawer space so we lived out of suitcases for the 3 days we stayed. Our room was very tired looking and the mirrors looked like they had not been cleaned for months - cobwebs on the... More

We stayed here for a weekend with our little mini schnauzer. At five months old he was a bit of a nuisance, he seemed pretty confused about the whole experience and had the odd bark at people/dogs in the bar. However, the owners and staff were all brilliantly patient with us (and him) and made us feel most welcome. We... More

Stayed at The Wheatsheaf on a Wowcher deal which was a bargain as I would not have paid full price to stay here. It is in a lovely setting and very quiet but it was just not for us. We stayed in Room 7 with a four poster bed which made the room feel very closed in and dark, the... More

Really enjoyable weekend away. This was a Wowcher deal, and a great bargain. Nice, pleasant room. Fab, home cooked food. We were spoilt for choice on the menu. Staff were lovely and friendly. No mobile phone reception and limited wi fi, but that made it more of a break away. Few interruptions! Will hopefully return and would recommend. The Wensleydale... More

A traditional pub with a warm welcome and even warmer rooms. Which were basic but clean and lovely comfortable beds. Breakfast was usual but done well scrambled eggs to die for,. We ate in both nights and food and Beers were good a resonably priced. Staff were attentive and brought a little extra to the weekend. Location was close to... More
