Stayed here as a wee getaway for the wife's birthday. The welcome from the hotel staff was like the roaring coal fire in the pub, warm and inviting. The Wheatsheaf is an olde world style hotel, located in Carpberry, and idyllic setting in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales. it's the ideal location if you like walking, and if you... More

Stayed at The Wheatsheaf for 2 nights mid January as a little getaway for my birthday with my other half. We had a room at the front with a double four poster bed and en-suite bathroom. The bed was extremely cosy and comfy and the room very clean and simply decorated. The village itself is a remote, idyllic and out... More

We stayed here for two nights. A great pub atmosphere, with good food, good beer, good service and a friendly attitude from all the staff. We stayed principally because it's a dog friendly. Our room may have been a bit small, but it was warm and the bed was comfortable and we both slept well. Would we stay here again~most... More

Stayed here for 2 nights end of November with friends for husbands birthday. A lovely pub welcoming and friendly, we had a lovely room No 5 being roomy, modern nicely fitted out, comfortable, efficient powerful shower, comfortable bed. Breakfasts excellent, quality bacon and sausage, good choices. We had an evening meal there. I would recommend this pub. A good walking... More

Was booked with an offer voucher and as such was a bargain. Dog friendly and due to the dog was in a small room, but it had all we needed, was warm and the bed was very comfortable with nice bedding. Breakfast was good, but thought meals were a bit pricey. Could have keep roaring fires in the bar, had... More

Returned today from a two night stay using Wowcher deal. As soon as we walked in we had a friendly welcome, and one of the first things you see is the blazing open fire - can't beat it for warmth and atmosphere. We were shown to our room (No.4) in a newer part of the pub and facing onto the... More
