Great location, placed on a hill with only the moors to surround it - wonderful views. Traditional old pub with well appointed rooms. We stay regularly as we work nearby. Food is absolutely spot on - the chicken and chorizo pasta is simply amazing. Breakfast is superb - they do what can only be described as a home made version... More

We visited in july for the first time. After arriving at the bar it took the waitress over 15 minutes to take our drink order. Leaving us standing at the bar. Once our drinks order was taken it took another 10 minutes to make. We were then shown through to our table. It seemed as if all the staff were... More

This review is a little late in coming but better late than never. We got married here at Christmas last year & it was truly magical. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the venue looked amazing. The food was beautiful, all the guests commented on how amazing the food was. We had a truly perfect day, it couldn't... More

Never wrote a review before, but feel it would be rude not to. The food was well above my expectations. The room, was clean, very nice décor. The service was excellent, from the manager to the waiting staff nothing was to much trouble. I worked for a leading tour operator for over 10 years and feel I am more than... More

We stayed here for a night in order to go and watch a stage of the Tour de France which was happening nearby on the following day. The hotel is in a lovely setting, the rooms beautiful (and reasonably priced considering the quality of the décor, bathroom etc.) and the staff could not have been more pleasant and helpful. We... The location is stunning and worth visiting if only for that. The last time we visited we dined in the bar which has more atmosphere than the conservatory. Overall the food was very good but if you have the cheese pie ask for the sauce to be served separately otherwise it will be served completely smothered in it. The desserts... More

Attended my cousin's wedding reception here on Saturday and it was absolutely beautiful! Couldn't have asked for a nicer view! The food was beautiful and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Having never been here before, had an excellent experience.
