We arrived on Thursday evening after a 300 mile journey, and were shown to our room by a polite, friendly and efficient young man, who even offered to carry our bags. The room was spacious, tastefully furnished and comfortable, with all needs fully catered for. A coffee machine, sound system, discreet wall mounted TV, an ironing board, plenty of storage,... More

Went to a wedding here in August. The whole hotel booked out solely for the wedding. Excellent bar service as we arrived. Fabulous venue, great food and drink, brilliant service. All in all a 5 star experience in the Yorkshire countryside. Loved it! Highly recommended!

I have always liked the Alma, and have attended several weddings there, which have been very special, which is the main reason why, my fiancé and I chose it for one of the most important days of our lives. At the time of booking, we decided that it would be a nice treat for myself to stay with my bridesmaids... More

Visited the Alma Inn for my sister's wedding. Excellent service from a young, helpful and cheerful staff, despite this being the second wedding of the weekend. Bed rooms looked lovely ( and Molton Brown toiletries!) with excellent reports from relatives who stayed. Super food, lovely lounges. Just all in all a great day. Thank you.

My daughter married at The Alma Inn on 25th July. We had exclusivity from lunchtime onwards and some guests stayed overnight. The venue is a beautiful setting and the weather was lovely. The staff were warm, welcoming and very polite nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and enjoyed by everyone and the atmosphere terrific. The two rooms... More

The pub itself is lovely and in beautiful countryside however the staff were not very attentive and seemed more worried about the extra frills such as ironing the tablecloths than waiting on tables. Two items from our order were forgotten and no real effort was made by staff to rectify. Food was well presented and tasty but was overpriced. The... More

Myself and my wife were on a business trip to the UK. The company we were visiting recommended the Alma, so glad they did. The room was spotless, large enough and had a nespresso machine. Dinner was really good, we even taught the staff how to make an affagato !!!. Beer was good, service was good, the hotel was really... More

Had lunch today with Spanish friends and was disappointed with the food. Staff were very attentive and soon attended to us which bode well.Drinks soon appeared but they are a little heavy on price. We all ordered starters with mixed results as 2 were over cooked. Main courses arrived and the risotto appeared to have been made with "pudding rice"... More
