I've stayed at De Vere venues before and have found them excellent, so I was pleased to book the Theobald for a reasonable Sunday night rate, for work 10mins drive away on the Monday morning. The location is stunning; a wonderful Victorian pile just off the M25 near Enfield but lost in it's own grounds so you aren't bothered by... More

Stayed here as a birthday treat before visiting nearby Paradise Park. We found the hotel smart enough in lovely grounds and the bed was extremely comfortable. Staff were pretty friendly most of the time and the breakfast was overpriced but was okay. All in all I would stay here again, but it maybe lacked the quality and finesse that we... More

I booked a room on-line for this hotel and decided that the offer of a signature room was the best deal. Do not be fooled though as when I arrived I was informed that there is no difference in the rooms, don't pay extra therefore. The first room was old, tired and not clean but then the lift and corridors... More

Stayed mid week for a business trip. Room was average sized but could have been cleaner in corners of bathroom and the kettle was filthy. Evening meal priced at premium rate but lacked care with presentation and seasoning.

We stayed in this hotel Christmas eve and Christmas night. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious. The bed was large and very comfortable. The bathroom was well laid out and a good working shower. The hotel was very quiet which suited us. Breakfast was buffet style with everything that you could need or want with the most delicious scrambled... More

Stayed here from 2-4th January 2015. Was visiting relatives close by for my hubby's 39th birthday celebrations, location was perfect for us. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms allocated to us were not ready(stables) alternative in main building given- wasn't botheres as we were early anyway. However lift didn't work we were rooms 601 & 607. Our room 601 was... More

Five of us went for the Ball and stayed over night. Checked in at 1400. the Evening Started with champagne and canape reception! followed by a band piper escorting us to our table for a 4 course dinner, following that our kind of music for dancing. After the clock struck 1200, we were entertained on the lawn with fireworks. canape... More

We are a group of 6 (3 couples) and stayed overnight for the New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball. We had a great time and the staff were all brilliant. The rooms were very nice (212,214,215) and the beds comfortable. The food was wonderful and the fireworks amazing. We did not take part in the disco as one of us has... More

This is my second De Vere venue I have stayed in, and I am not disappointed. This one is better than my first. The rooms are cleaner and bigger. The staff are amazing and attentive. The views, grounds and building is beautiful. A staff member (Becky) is the most humble down to earth helpful soul. For the price paid, I believe... More

The hotel is situated in a very pleasant and picturesque setting. The main entrance to the hotel isn't the actual historical side of the hotel, but an entrance which almost looks like a hospital reception, making you question what the rooms will turn out like. Once pointed to our room, we went through the bar and through to the historical... More
