We held our daughters wedding in Theobalds Park Mansion on 11th October and this really is a superb venue. We had the whole mansion for the entire weekend and our guests stayed in the bedrooms allocated in the same building. We even had our own breakfast room for the Sunday morning for the whole bridal party. The mansion is beautiful... More

I haven't stayed here - but use it regularly to run training courses. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Breakfast is excellent and food always very good. There is always tea, coffee and biscuits available in the bar area during the daytime.

Enjoyed my second stay. Nice location with easy access to London. The staff were nice. My only complaint is I think the breakfast is poor and I honestly don't think asking if the chef would do you a soft boiled egg should be a problem. Also the porridge took 20 minutes and was awful. But that is all I can... More

Classic country style mansion from the outside however on the inside worse for wear, I booked a single room and it was an old fashioned single, no bedside table, flat screen TV with poor reception, bedroom light switch by the door nowhere near the bed, windows not double glazed and not sealed and no views overlooking a flat roof, Lots... Booked a double room, was put in a single the size of a cupboard. When I queried it was told that they were full so too bad. Room grubby and carpet stained. Service in the bar slow and staff uninterested. Would not recommend this hotel.

It's a most splendid old building as you ruise past on your way to reception, and it's sets your level of expectation..................that isn't matched in almost all circumstances. I arrived on a Sunday evening, and staffing was too sparce, no offer of help with baggage. It was getting dark and the stairs down from the car park to reception were... More

Good clean hotel in very nice setting. Large room wit comfy bed. Had a very good steak in the restaurant. My only criticism was the loud music in the restaurant that appeared to be a radio station playing both music and adverts

This is definitely a conference venue and not a true hotel. Although their website indicates they have a restaurant and the room guide said it opened at midday, it was clear that we were not meant to eat there as the menu was limited and had been tailored to a church group that were there. It also didn't open until... More

Disappointing for several reasons. 1. On arrival the receptionist would not give me the room key, as housekeeping had not quite finished in the room. I asked for the key anyway as we could wait with my daughter who was in the adjacent room. She still said no, so we went to my daughter's room to wait. By the time... More

Venue used for Tesco training , so lots of drunk , rude graduates in the bar . This is the second time I've stayed here, both times in The Ridings, which is a block across the car park, not great for single females in the dark . The plumbing over there is very noisy. Checked into a double room ,... More
