Only a few minutes from the centre of Durham and in a quiet picturesque village the Seven Stars is a great place to explore the area. The breakfast was prompt and well cooked despite being busy and the other guests were friendly.

what a lovely place to eat,was warm and inviting, food was excellent, good prices for what you get, a bit out the way if staying in Durham but well worth a visit, staff very friendly, and welcoming, four adults- three courses and drinks [soft drinks] £80, £20 a head is very good in this day and age,

Just back from a great weekend in Durham. This Inn is very good - the staff are friendly, helpful and very good at their jobs. The rooms are compact but have all that you require for a good night sleep, they were clean, not too hot and the bed was comfortable. The food at dinner was excellent as was the... More

very reasonable and excellent location for durham. The bus stops right outside both ways. The food at the sevens stars was excellent. we also ate at the rose tree which is just down the road and i would also recommend this. The main road could be noisy but after a while you don't notice it.

This is a country inn and your expectations should be based on that and not on that of a luxury hotel! I have been staying here for 6 years and have never been disappointed. The rooms can be small, as are the showers but everything functions. See above. Fine for a several day stay. English breakfast very good . Staff... More

This is a pub/restaurant with rooms above in a quiet location close to Durham city. Our room, No.7, was quite small but adequate and very quiet after the pub had closed. En suite small and shower a bit unpredictable. Breakfast was very good, excellent quality bacon and sausages. Service also very pleasant and welcoming.

Excellent breakfast. Staff there were also friendly. In fact, all of the younger female staff were very friendly and welcoming especially the girl who checked me in. Older lady in the restaurant was rude - I left which was a pity as the food there on the first night was excellent. Shower the worst I have ever encountered...so bad I... More

Food was good enough, for pub food but incongruous to the lovely surroundings. Open (fake coal) real flame fires made for a warm welcome. The lady who greeted us was really nice, friendly and seemed to really enjoy her job. Food served quickly and piping hot. Toilets as is often the case, were tired looking and freezing! The chap who... More

I have recently been staying at the Seven Stars inn whilst visiting Durham on business. My first stay there for a number of years, thankfully the owners have took up the gauntlet and kept the inn a warm, welcoming place with lovely food, good beer, good company and great staff. I would recommend to anyone planning a stay over in... More
