Just come back from staying at the Seven Stars Inn, fantastic two nights. Every staff member could not have done anymore to make us feel welcome, a special thank you to Steph and Chris. Food and the service was excellent and very good value for money. Room was lovely and very clean. We will definitely be going back. Many thanks... More

We regularly eat at the Seven Stars, frequently with friends. The food, wine and staff are all first class. We often go for Sunday lunch and as we eat out on a regular basis, we haven't found anywhere to rival the food served at this charming pub.

Absolute Joke of a restaurant / hotel can only be described as one the worst experiences customer service wise the food was alright nothing too great.. the owner was who I think was called Noreen was rude obnoxious and very unpleasant. Place could do with a visit from the hotel inspector..

Ironically I'm writing this sat by a pool and have a decent view of the Burj Al Arab. A shining example of a seven star establishment, unlike the Sevens Stars in Shincliffe which is sadly at the other end of the spectrum. What could the Seven Stars learn from the Burj Al Arab? If you are going to impose a... More

Thank you for your review. Firstly may I say I think it is a little unfair to even try to compare a seven star hotel with a three star country inn. Your group all booked independently so we were not aware it was large group booking which we normally do not accept. This is the second review from your group... More

On arrival we found out a number of 'House Rules' which did not create a very warm welcome. The en suite was extremely small and difficult to move around it without bumping into something. It also needed work doing-shower head blocked, shower screen broken etc. The mattress was very uncomfortable, every spring could be felt and there was a big... More

Thank you for your review. We would like to reply by saying we do confirm two important bits of information (or house rules as you put it) on arrival, which are to state that the building is completely none smoking, and that we do not have a night porter so we can not provide external access to guest rooms after... I've been here a couple of times recently and both times I've been blown away by the excellent customer service - the waiter was helpful, polite and seemed to genuinely care that we had a good experience. The food was also excellent.

We had pre-paid dinner for the 2 nights that we stayed and received a three-course meal (roast on the Sunday) that we found too much. Breakfast was great also. The room was smaller than others that we had had (after all it was built in 1724), but it was clean and comfortable. The hosts were friendly and helpful. The dining... More

Apart from serving us some excellent lunchtime food, the folks were friendly as they come, and helped us out with some great directions towards Hadrians wall, the scenic way. My burger with blue cheese was the best I'd had in ages. Definitely come here again.

I have visited this establishment a number of times over the last nine years when the then-new owners took over. The building itself is attractive, while the staff are always friendly, the meals are superb and the prices good. I and several friends who visit their regularly have no hesitation in recommending the Seven Stars -except that it may make... More
