My husband and I have just returned today from 4 fabulous days in Dorset. Summer Lodge was a home away from home. Everything from when we first arrived and checked in last Monday until we checked out today was perfect. The room was beautifully appointed - there were the most delicious shortbread bickies to have with your tea!! The staff... More

We have been clients of Summer Lodge for over 15 years - birthday parties, entertaining visitors, gala evenings etc. For our silver wedding anniversary we again chose Summer Lodge, despite living just 12 miles away. The venue is stunning and the room (No 21) was marvelous. It was much bigger than we expected and you could easily spend a week... More

We decided to splash out for a special few days, and had a wonderful time- but it was very expensive, even with the 3 nights for 2 offer it was £500/night DB+B. Was it worth it? - undoubtedly yes. From the moment I rang to book the service was impecable, with our preferences for pillow and bedding type noted. The room-... More

I agree with almost all the feedback on this hotel. Decor tastefully co-ordinated, service was very attentive - sometimes a little overbearing (breakfast especially). The food was beautifully presented but not a lot of it for the price. Our issue for not giving Summer Lodge the highest score was over our wine charge. The younger of the two Sommeliers was... More

Dear Lesley A Thank you for taking the time to post a review of your recent stay. I am very sorry to read about your disappointment in the service provided by Eric, our Head Sommelier. I was surprised to read your comments, since we receive so much positive feedback about the way in which Eric can enhance a dining experience... More

Lovely decor - the bar and drawing room were beautifully decorated. The room and bathroom was a bit small, we did expect it to be bigger. Staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. Breakfast was fantastic. The Hotel has a brilliant restaurant - food was amazing. The hotel does afternoon teas which we did not try but were told by other... More

Having spent a delightful week at Summer Lodge last year, we decided to return this year for another week of perfect rest and relaxation. We weren't disappointed. The standards are absolutely excellent. The rooms are lovely, the surroundings idyllic, the food is of the highest quality and beautifully prepared. Above all, the service is just about as good as you... More

This is by far one of the best weekends away! If you have no budget and want an amazing relaxed weekend away this is for you. Firstly they upgraded us just to be nice. The room was amazing with all the little touches like tea coffee homemade biscuits and so on. They lit candles every night- just those little touches... More

From the first contact Summer Lodge did not put a foot wrong in the planning of our wedding. We were fortunate to have a perfect Spring day for the occasion and the gardens at Summer Lodge were a magnificent location for the wedding photographs. The staff at Summer Lodge give excellent service throughout. The food and wines for our meal... More

We stayed for just one night but it seemed much longer. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations. The room was delightful, the staff really couldn't do enough for us and the food was outstanding. Eric, the sommelier, found us an excellent bottle of red from a small US vineyard that we had never heard of. Excellent!
