Arrived in dorset at midnight and was let down on family accommodation at the last min. Called 20 local hotels and b&b's with some very rude responses. Last call was to the George Albert. Lucas (member of staff) was very polite and kindly checked our room personally to make sure it was adequate. Room was lovely, breakfast was very good... More

Rooms clean tidy and comfortable. Restaurant staff in particular seem to give the impression that guests are there as an inconvenience to them. Junior staff given no support when trying to sort our errors on bills. Food excellent but not cheap

Unfortunately I didn't enjoy my stay here. The reception staff, although efficient, were not particularly friendly or welcoming. We arrived late in the evening after a long car trip and a funeral, tired and emotional. A pleasant smile from the receptionist to welcome us to the hotel would have been appreciated. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, but the bathroom... More

A clean, tidy and large room with a large bed. Stunning views, friendly staff. Bathroom was spacious and had good quality toilet paper (so many hotels skimp on this). The breakfast was self service and was first class. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to everyone. This is situated on the same site as the southern counties clay shooting ground... More

This hotel is an oasis in the desert. Situated in the middle of nowhere, it provided two nights of restful escape and completely non commercial in terms of nearby attractions and certainly not providing for children (playground etc) - welcome at times. The staff are first class - most pleasant and welcoming. The rooms were airy, spacious and very smart.... More

We stayed here overnight after a wedding nearby and before travelling on to Devon the next day. It was very clean and comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We had a snack in the bar in the evening and that too was very good. We would definitely consider staying here again if we wanted a break on... More

I stayed here for a few days recently on a business trip (a taught course) as part of a large group, and was so pleased by how good everything was, and how well everything was handled. My room was large, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. The conference facilities were excellent and suited our needs perfectly. The staff were friendly and pro-active... More
