I've enjoyed a lot to play lakeland and parkland two times. I didnt play woodland thus no comment. Greens were in perfect shape and fairways besides some gur were great too. very friendly people and a very reasonable price for sunset greenfees. As we spent our holidays in Wool we only had a short drive. If you are in Dorset... More

We spent 3 days at a family party weekend enjoying everything at this resort other than the weather on the middle day when severe thunderstorms restricted us to 3 holes of golf and a 1 hour shelter under a big oak tree at the far end of the course while a couple of inches of rain fell and flooded the... We stayed at these rooms as part of a family party. Some of the family stayed in lodges for the weekend and played golf. We have no interest whatsoever in golf so joined the party for one night in a twin room. The Dormy House is set apart from the main Club House and the rooms are very basic. I... More

Despite the wet weather the course soon dried out and the fairways were just about playable. There are some long challenging holes on the Parkland and Lakeland courses. The Woodland course is by far the best of the three. It's a bit shorter but a lot tighter with fairways lined by beautiful Azalea bushes. All greens were in excellent condition.... More

Took a party of 21 golfers on the 2nd to 4th May 2014. Unfortunately the weather had not be kind to the courses we played on the first two days ( Lakeland and Parkland) but that apart everyone in the party was very impressed with layout and challenging nature of the two 9 hole courses. A well stocked bar and... More

Just returned from 5 brilliant nights in the Poole Log Cabin. What a wonderful time with our son and his lovely family. Weather not brilliant all the time but cabin was great for the two boys (aged 1 & 3) to run and play around in. 6 of us had a great time and the staff were truly welcoming with... More

Four of us on a break; all three courses played. Despite wet conditions underfoot the greens were excellent and got better as the weather improved. But it was in the clubhouse that the real warmth of this place came through as golfers and bowlers mixed and all staff looked after various needs without fuss. First class venue.

Just spent last weekend here on our golf away weekend and stay in one of the lodges (or 'Shed's as they became to be known) and what a shed!! The lodge (aka Shed) was very welcoming, very spacious , very well kitted out and have a very homely feel about them – only small moan is I would have like... More

Despite lots of golf choices in the UK our golf society just loves returning here. Friendly, helpful staff, really excellent food and the chalets are very popular. The 3 courses provide enough challenge for all abilities and the staff are used to looking after big groups with minimum fuss. Highly recommended

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our 12 Luxury Log Homes are located less than 150 yards from our fantastic club house and golf courses. Our log homes are the perfect base for your next golfing holiday; every stay includes free golf on our superb 27 holes of Championship Golf across our Woodland, Lakeland and Parkland courses. The Fairy tale Scandinavian-style houses at the Dorset Resort are very different types of buildings not often seen in the English Countryside. Made entirely from trees grown in the Nordic forests of Finland, these houses create a unique healthy living environment because the wood "breathes" whilst at the same time being a better insulator than brick. The homes combine simplicity with luxury, the natural oiled pine floors, walls and ceilings create a remarkably relaxed living space and all the furniture and fittings are of very high quality. People are able to rent periods from 2 days to 4 weeks in these wonderful homes, enabling them to spend quality time in this picturesque area of Dorset. All the houses are set in a quiet woodland glade surrounded by stunning fir trees and wonderful wildlife, birds, butterflies and animals abound in this forest setting. The Dorset Golf & Country Club hosts some of the most challenging golf in Dorset and is recognized as one of the golfing gems of the South of England. The Martin Hawtree designed; Woodland, Lakeland are Parkland courses are built to full USGA specification and are extremely well maintained, presenting excellent playing conditions for all levels of golfers. With the addition of our Woodland Cottage, 16 twin bedroom Golf Lodge Hotel, Fitness Center and 3 Rink Championship Indoor Bowls Facility we really do have it all. Dorset is a Perfect place for a Golf Break or Self Catering get away. So come and have your next golf or bowls holiday at our fantastic Resort Village, you will not be disappointed! ... more   less
