We had a wonderful 7 night stay at Thomas Luny House. The Chinese room and shower were of the highest standard, and the breakfast superb. Every afternoon tea and cake are offered with a proper pot of Taylor's loose tea. People come here year after year and it's clear why!

This place is located 10 minutes walk from the station and 3 minutes walk from the centre of town. It is however surprisingly quiet with little noise from traffic. It is a grand property built in 1792 with loads of character and set in its own private grounds. My Father and I stayed here for 4 nights in separate rooms.... More

Have stayed here several times, as it's the best B&B around. John & Alison always make us feel very welcome & the place is immaculate. The ensuite rooms are very spacious & there is a garden , where you are offered home made cake & tea in the afternoon. The breakfasts are excellent, with lots of choice & parking is... More

Bit of a late review but spent 5 nights here in June 2014 with John and Alison who made us feel very welcome. Lovely place to stay and a fantastic location. Food excellent, room very nice and clean. Would come back and stop again if in the area.

If you like homely spacious comfort, this is for you. John & Alison are always welcoming and the breakfasts and afternoon cake are to be looked forward for and enjoyed. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance so good wine with a meal is not a problem.

You couldn't ask for a better place to stay than here! The bedrooms and bathroom are super clean and shiney! The breakfast is delicious, anything you could wish for and served on beautiful white china and perfectly starched linen! We had a choice of chocolate or fruit cake with our tea which we looked forward to every afternoon too. John... More

from the wonderful welcome with tea and cake in the garden (which happened every afternoon) to the fabulously comfortable bed, spotless accommodation and the best breakfast ever Thomas Luny House cannot fail to impress any visitor. Alison and John are perfect hosts and the only downside of giving such a glowing recommendation is that I only hope it is not... More

This was our third visit to Thomas Luny House and, as always before, it was a wonderful experience. It is a beautifully kept Georgian house with four bedrooms, all decorated very individually, but all with extremely comfortable beds, immaculate bathrooms and a welcoming feel. Alison and John make their visitors extremely welcome, breakfasts are delicious, starting with cereals, fresh fruit... More
