The Cliffden has a very noble ethos , that being, to care and cater for the needs of visually impaired and blind people. This can be seen in the number of instructions in Braille , pronounced stair rods and the acceptane of dogs within the premises. However taking this aside when judged as a hotel we were disappointed with the... More

The hotel is run by a charity for blind people, yet welcomes sighted guests too. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, as sighted guests we did worry that we may not fit in, but this was not the case. The staff are very welcoming to all the guests, especially if you love dogs. The bar lady in the... More

Beautiful location, some rooms with sea views. Quick easy access to the beach through a dedicated back gate. Problem with our room but we were moved without fuss or trouble. The hotel is a little tired and needs to be redecorated throughout. The hot water is very erratic and does cause problems when showering. Wonderful if you like to take... More

Stayed for two nights, paid for a club room and got a v small room when checking in. Was switched to a slightly bigger room but I wouldn't call it ma club room. We couldn't use the shower as it was over the bath and the eaves made it too small a space. I am average height female and I... More

Action for the blind hotel that accepts sighted guests. The room was pleasant, light and clean with usual facilities, TV, coffee, tea making. Staff were excellent and attentive. Very nice large gardens. Would recommend.

Great position within 5 minutes walk of town centre. This hotel has some association with the guide dogs for the blind charity and specially caters for people with their guide dogs. I love dogs so I was happy. There were lots of them around. It is quite a large property with a fabulous garden setting up on top of the... More

Thank you for your review. The hotel is in a lovely location, close to the seafront, with views of the sea and gardens, and I am very pleased that you enjoyed not just your stay at the hotel, but also your breakfast as well! Action for Blind People operate the hotel, although we welcome all our guests, blind, partially sighted... More

As someone who travels with two dogs, whenever possible I try to stay in a Vision Hotel. The facilities provided are excellent (eg beds, bowls, towels, showers,'spend' areas) and the staff attitude towards them is invariably helpful and friendly. My most recent stay was at the Cliffden - wonderful location with sea views and direct access from the grounds to... More

We planned to stay for 4 days, but left after 2 days, for several reasons. The hotel accommodates dogs. Dogs for the visually impaired are allowed in the restaurant, but dogs such as ours are not, which is absolutely acceptable. Outside the restaurant is a patio with seating and a table. (This is long past its best). As we have... More

A lovely looking hotel in a fab location. Very helpful and friendly staff. Had accidentally booked a twin room on our honeymoon and they were very quick to sort us out with a double. The room was nice and the en suite good. Mattress wasn't the most comfy but got a good night's sleep and small touches such as a... More

Spent a week at the Cliffden second week in June as a helper for Worcester Polio Association. The hotel is probably and old house that has been extended very well. The room I had was very nice with its own little balcony (room 11) looking over the extensive gardens. The staff were all very helpful, caring and cant do enough... More
