We stayed here for a 60th wedding anniversary of one of our relatives. It's a bit like the Tardis, lots of little nooks and crannies. The staff couldn't have been more helpful; we were asked at every opportunity if there was anything else we needed. Yes, the room was a little dated but the bed was comfy!! We wouldn't hesitate... This is such a shame. The hotel is conveniently located and the setting is ideal. The hotel is very dated and this would not take much to remedy- a lick of paint and a de clutter. The staff were friendly enough but the waitresses in the dining room could just have been a little more professional in their approach. It would... More

Cockhaven manor is dated in appearance and decor but is well kept and clean. The rooms are comfortable and well stocked with both drinks and bathroom supplies which are replenished daily. We had a delightful four poster bed in our superior double. If a shower is important to you then you would be advised to ask for one specifically as... More

Stayed at the Cockhaven as it is a good base to visit the local vine yard for a tour On our arrival we were made very welcome The room may have been a little dated but this was part of its charm and character. There was a good supply of drinks available in what was a well presented room. The... More

Stayed for the weekend as it was convenient for a local vineyard tour, first impression was that it was a little old fashioned, but had a nice garden area. A young waiter took us to our room, which although quite large seemed dated, the door to the bathroom didn't shut and the carpets were grubby. There was also a very... More

My partner and I booked into this hotel as guests at a wedding reception being held downstairs. As it was available, we chose to book the 'superior' room as a treat. Although roomy, the decor was dated and not really comparable to other hotels we have stayed in recently. We arrived after a long drive and were looking forward to... More

Went to the cockhaven for dinner with friends and family, although the management very welcoming all other waiters and waitress are untrained teenage kids. In our group most people had steaks two of which had to been sent back as they were under cooked should have been medium to well done rather than rare. The presention of the food probably... More

My patner and I recently stayed over for a wedding. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we stepped in. The breakfast we had both mornings was superb. I like the idea of starting off with a small breakfast then adding extras for free. Saves on a lot of food waste. Served roast beef with all the trimmings... More

After thoroughly enjoying a meal at Cockhaven and being impressed with the range of home cooked dishes using locally sourced elements, we decided to have our future Wedding Reception there too. However, we found that not only could they do the Reception, but Cockhaven also have a licence for the Wedding Ceremony too. With experience and enthusiasm, our host, Roy,... More
