Visited the pub many years ago and always wanted to return. The location suited an overnight stay so booked and was immediately offered an upgrade. Chose not to go for the four poster bed option as I was a solo traveller. Having now read reviews on Tripadvisor someone must have had the same experience as me and I assume that... More

Tried a midweek evening going somewhere new for dinner. Well newish, last in there about 5 years ago. Lovely village, good for a stroll in the daytime, plenty of pubs to choose from and a fabulous sweet shop over the road. By night this is a quaint pub where you feel relaxed. The bar / restaurant is one rectangle so... More

When ordering a roast chicken i expect roast chicken, not griddle cooked pieces that left a funny taste due to the burnt score marks. At 12-13 pound not cheap either. I could mention other things but actually like the pub. Pull your bloody socks up.

We arrived with a warm welcome the rooms were very nice with everything you need, shower perfect too, big screen TV etc. We ordered rob eye steal served on a wooden board with all the trimmings also they served local hand pump beer which was interesting and tasty. Breakfast was 20/20 all you want with trimming. The staff was very... More

We could not have been more pleased with our four poster room which was above the entrance to the courtyard and therefore very quiet. Some traffic noise was to be expected. The guy that checked us in was very friendly and professional. Some items of furniture were what some would call a little shabby but we prefer to see it... More

My wife and I visited for lunch yesterday while staying in the area. The front bar and dining area seemed quite busy but we were served by Charli at the bar without delay. More than half of the adjacent tables were occupied with customers enjoying lunch and we were initially concerned that we might have a long wait for food.... More

We stayed in room 7 and having read other reviews maybe we were lucky? The room was lovely, bed very comfortable, en-suite suitable & clean. Traffic expected with the location. Food was excellent and staff very attentive. I'd stay again and I do appreciate a clean room!

Just got back from a one night stay at the George and Dragon Hotel in West Wycombe. What a fantastic hotel, 400 years old but with all the modern things you would expect. Steeped in history. We had a four poster room (number 1) and it was amazing. The hotel has a great restaurant with a very talented chef -... More

The room was awful. It had what looked like a shed on the back wall which was laughingly called the "en-suite". The sink had a crack right across it and was black with dirt. The toilet seat was wood and had a split right the way through at the front and therefore germs could abound. As for the shower cubicle,... More

I stayed here on the 11th of August and found the staff to be very welcoming, the room clean and comfortable and the decor quite charming. There are a few little things they could do to improve but for the low price of £75 for a large room with a four poster bed and a good sized on suite it... More
