We had a marvelous time at the Villa Barone. The owners are lovely, the staff is fantastic, the area is beautiful. We had a comfortable room in the main house, spacious and clean. The food was delicious (spinach gniocchi, fiorentina). There are lovely little tours to do in the area.

We just returned from a long Easter weekend in Tuscany. Our purpose was to find the perfect place for our September trip with our friends. And we did at Villa Le Barone. We had about 20 hotels that we wanted to check out, and stopped after 3 when we visited this hotel. We asked if we could see some rooms... More

I have been a travel agent for over 40 years and have traveled extensively, the Villa Le Barone is one of the best stays ever. Great location for exploring Tuscany, great staff, and the owvers are real hands on and a joy to meet. Took the cooking classes, never has so much fun, the two ladies who did the class... More

I stayed at Villa Le Barone from Nov 28th thru December 3rd, 2009. I went alone. It was during the down season, which did not matter to me at all. I went for leisure and relaxation and to open a new world to myself. For the first few days of my stay..I was the only guest. I was treated like... More

Blue skies, crystal clear sunshine beating down on vine-laden hills, medieval churches on two sides. Silence. Great food served with outstanding wine from a vineyard a 10-minute walk away. The Count and Countess patrol the grounds like any old manager would do; they ask after your children, suggest restaurants in the area. The staff are friendly but unobtrusive. The rooms... More

Fabulous place. Impeccable service. Relaxed but dignified. Owner (Count Corso) introduced himself and offered many tips on where to go, what to see. Felt we were really welcomed to his home. Were offered choice of rooms available (we had booked early and this was end of season). Excellent place to home base for touring the heart of Chianti-Greve, Radda, Gaole.... More

Dear Bluecrabmow, thank you for having written a review and thank you for your kind words. You have noticed that Villa Le Barone is more like a house open to Guests and Friends rather than a Hotel. My wife and I spend lots of time at Villa Le Barone and our pleasure is to greet new Guests and Old Friends... More

The Chianti landscapes surrounding the villa are simply beautiful... and the atmosphere here is the one of a family villa, both intimate (you will feel the atmosphere of the past family) and comfortable (rooms have been renovated) ; we very much enjoyed this place so quiet and relaxing, ideal to have a rest, and very well located to enjoy the... Second time we've stayed here. First time was in main building which suffers from not having a lift and so-so rooms. The little 'cottages' in adjoining outbuildings more expensive but much nicer. Beautiful location in rolling Tuscan hills. Car a must. Local village Panzano is delightful. Nice 'honour' system in unstaffed bar (except someone stole our wine !). Restaurant serves... More

Many thanks for your kind review. We hope that after the second visit there will be a third and a fourth! Record is for one of our Guests having come back every year since the opening 30 years ago! Glad you liked the rooms in the cottages, we believe that the rooms in the old Villa are also very nice,... More

The Villa gave us a beautiful setting in which to experience Tuscany. It was quiet, peaceful, charmingly beautiful, had outstanding views, and a staff that was experienced and attentive. The owners were available and delightful, a great part of our experience. Food was excellent but not fancy. The rooms are small but adequate. Altogether, it felt like visiting old friends... More

We spent 5 days in Tuscany staying at Villa Le Barone in Panzano which is in the center of the Chianti region. We were lucky there was a local wine festival. The food was excellent at the Villa. Each dinner started with a large table of antipasto. The roons were very nice but room 10 is at the top of... More
