At nearly $300 per night, the Villa Barone is seriously overpriced. The grounds are beautiful, but the room we had was noisy, dark and airless. The wifi is basically inoperable. We lived in a 4 star hotel for four years and Villa Barone is not a four star experience, by any stretch. If you do book, avoid the restaurant. The... More

Le Barone is a tranquil oasis in Chianti. Built as a tower in the Middle Ages and seat of a Baronetcy, the tower was torn down during the Middle Ages and converted to a villa. It is surrounded by an agricultural estate. One could spend days roaming the 14 acre oasis of tranquility and beauty. We had the good fortune... More

Dear Wanderlus, it was a pleasure meeting you both and it is a further pleasure to hear that you had a good time relaxing in the countryside around Villa le Barone. This gives me the occasion to suggest to our Trip Advisor readers to always ask Reception for the itineraries my wife and I have made to discover Chianti off... More

Fabulous grounds, beautiful rooms in a quiet location. We loved our days at Barone. Attention to detail superb. The food was a little rustic though locally sourced. Would definitely return for a relaxing romantic few days.

Dear Jackie O, thank you very much for your kind review. This morning the weather was still a bit fresh, with a lovely sun shining on the valley below Villa le Barone and on the trees in bloom ... and I was saying to myself exactly what you are writing: we are in abeautiful unspoiled setting! Villa Le Barone provides a comfortable base for exploring Chianti and central Tuscany. Day trips to Siena, Arezzo, San Gimignano are easy, though you should be prepared for windy roads and slow travel. The staff is extremely helpful and outgoing, and they will do whatever they can to make your stay pleasurable. The owners were frequently at dinner and were... More

Le Barone is located in a wonderful place, with a great view of the Chianti region countryside. The owner is a very gentle person, and talked to us a lot about the region and gave us lots of tips to visit Chianti (unfortunately, we just met on our last day and we were not able to take all of his... beautiful property with excellent grounds - tennis, cute little fitness circuit, great views of countryside. Rooms were spacious with many common sitting areas. Restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinner - highly recommend including dinner in room here. Spent mornings exploring Siena, Panzano and greve- and afternoons outside at the Villa. All in all a great experience for our family.

We visited Villa LeBarone at the very beginning of the Spring season, 2015. It is a gorgeous, warm, welcoming, beautifully maintained, perfectly appointed estate. The rooms are spacious and tastefully decorated, the bathrooms are large and well appointed; the staff are friendly and helpful, the food is delicious,; we took a cooking class with the chef which was fantastic and... We only got to stay one night, as we were staying at a villa and were early (tough I know). We were referred here by the villa rental company. What an absolutely fantastic property. It is a relaxing, baronial spot with a thoroughly relaxed pace. The room was beautiful. The on site restaurant was magnificent; everything was beautifully fresh. We... More

Dear Paddyinte, thank you very much for your review on Villa le Barone. We stayed here for four days and nights in October, 2014. Not hard to find, but a little hard to navigate the narrow roads. Worth the effort. Dear drdiverme, Jacqueline and I were very happy to meet you and are very happy you enjoyed Tuscany and Villa le Barone. Yes! our roads in Tuscany are quite narrow and windy, charming, but somewhat difficult to drive on at night ... not even taking into consideration wild boars and deers crossing sometimes unexpectedly ...
