The hotel is very nice, with ocean views and close proximity to a small beach. After just coming from Rome, the smaller, less busy area is refreshing. The hotel is close to the train station(within walking distance) and has several small cafés around it. The hotel provides everything that you need in the rooms. It has a hair dryer, all... More

This is an extraordinary place. Really the facility is just over in the sea. The restaurant is unbelievable. Food is great. Mainly fish. The sound of the sea is so strong that it might be difficult to carry a conversation though..... Great. Consider to go down a lot of stairs to get there. Absolutely great.. Do not miss it. It... Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband as our friends were getting married in the town. The rooms are quite typical of many Italian hotels, old fashioned. Coloured miss matched tiles & furniture that could do with updating. We weren't in the room for any length of time so it did us for what we needed. If I were... More

My wife and I were looking for a charming place to get away to for a few days in March and came upon this place in the "100 Amazing Hotels" listing. The photos of the grotto bar, the grotto dining area, the rooftop deck were all stunning...unfortunately, they are all closed from September through April. The website doesn't mention this... More

This stunning restaurants location is like something from a James Bond set, we were blown away, the food although a bit pricey is worth it though you are paying for the setting, It is a perfect venue for a special occasion and we were only sorry that we couldn't return in the evening as we were staying an hour away.... Staying one night in this hotel is like experimenting a cruise while staying down to earth . On top of that we've enjoy a unforgettable view on the cavern crafted by the sea on the cliff The price of the restaurant are exaggerated but this is definitely the place to be if you've something very special to celebrate, we only... We dined at Restorante Grotta Palazzese last Saturday evening and arrived promptly at 7.30 when the restaurant opened, which I would advise you to do so as not to miss the spectacular sunset. I was a little worried prior to arriving as there were many bad reviews about service and food , but, everything was fantastic - food delicious, service... More

Make sure you ask for the one characteristic room otherwise you will be staying in an outdated circa 1960's style room with no elevator. If you choose to dine in the restaurant bring lots of euros to this overpriced restaurant. I loved the location right on the water but felt their website is very misleading with pictures.

this was one of the most spectacular times for us in southwest Italy. We stayed in this hotel high above the ocean with a view of the wide open sea and the high old walls of the ancient city. Dined in their cave restaurant which was absolutely superb. never seen anything like it. Huge drop into the ocean either side... More
