The view is incredible. Grab a bottle of wine and watch the sunset from the street view, it's literally just as good. The food is not good, we didn't each most of it. The service is absolutely terrible, I don't understand- it's like they train them to not engage you and to try to ignore you. We were in Italy... More

We went to the restaurant. I emailed a month before our trip to reserve a table in the center by the rail overlooking the ocean. Some people will say it is over priced mediocre cuisine. We loved it. It was a beautiful night and our food was delicious. The staff is excellent. They were very kind and efficient. I ordered... More

Whilst the setting is undoubtedly beautiful and unusual, I would not recommend this restaurant. There is a 10 euro cover charge added to overpriced food. Our party of 15 were treated well and the food was fine but certainly not worth the price.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms are small and worn down (air-condition broke down several times), but the sea view is great and the staff was friendly. Overall, the price is a rip-off considering what they offer; they simply live off the fact that they can control access to the Grotte Palazzese restaurant (that you really shouldn't miss when... I tried to book a table per phone, and an arrogant person ask me to send an email. A few hours after sending my email, I've received a quick answer. I was shocked to read that they wanted my credit card number to confirm the booking, and that you need to order minimum three portion per person ! I travel... More

In Italy for a friends wedding wanted to spoil my husband and best friend for a beautiful meal. The location looked lovely and I had hoped it would be a sensational meal. Well it was certainly one to remember for all the wrong reasons. When we arrived they weren't even set up, the maître d was still putting his shirt... More

The hotel is very nice, with ocean views and close proximity to a small beach. After just coming from Rome, the smaller, less busy area is refreshing. The hotel is close to the train station(within walking distance) and has several small cafés around it. The hotel provides everything that you need in the rooms. It has a hair dryer, all... More

This is an extraordinary place. Really the facility is just over in the sea. The restaurant is unbelievable. Food is great. Mainly fish. The sound of the sea is so strong that it might be difficult to carry a conversation though..... Great. Consider to go down a lot of stairs to get there. Absolutely great.. Do not miss it. It... Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband as our friends were getting married in the town. The rooms are quite typical of many Italian hotels, old fashioned. Coloured miss matched tiles & furniture that could do with updating. We weren't in the room for any length of time so it did us for what we needed. If I were... More

My wife and I were looking for a charming place to get away to for a few days in March and came upon this place in the "100 Amazing Hotels" listing. The photos of the grotto bar, the grotto dining area, the rooftop deck were all stunning...unfortunately, they are all closed from September through April. The website doesn't mention this... More
