Polignano a Mare is a gorgeous little town and the Hotel Grotta Palazzese has a spectular location and views. It is famous for the Summer Cave restaurant and the atmosphere lives up to the hype. The hotel itself is very nice, however not as spectacular as the restaurant. We went in May 2014 and there was construction going on which... More

This place had a very important place in my heart because I've celebrated here my 18 birthday and my law degree . However nowadays it' has become one of the worst hotel and restaurant in the world even if the location is unique and spectacular .

We went to Polignano a Mare specially to celebrate my birthday at the Grotta Palazzese Ristorante as I found pictures of it on the internet and they looked great. The overall experience at the Hotel and Restaurant was good but could be better if they just put a little more effort. The check-in and out process was smooth and quick... More

I went to Polignano A Mare specifically to eat in the Grotta (Cave) Restaurant. Unfortunately, due to bad weather the restaurant was closed for the season. The hotel itself was nice. The room I stayed in was great, it had a sea view. If you don't have a sea view I would say the cost wouldn't be worth it. The... More

Stayed here for eight nights using Polignano as a base to visit surrounding towns. We chose the hotel for its location, which is undeniably dramatic and very convenient; we also were impressed by the restaurant location on the website which is quite stunning. We had a sea-view room in one of the properties across the street from the main entrance.... More

I booked this early as I was keen go try it out on an anniversary as a special treat. This is without doubt one of the most spectacular restaurant settings I have ever seen...ranks alongside Asiate or Hutong in London...actually it's far better and more dramatic. I was amazed at the whole set-up and enjoyed the experience tremendously. Yes parking... More

The view is incredible. Grab a bottle of wine and watch the sunset from the street view, it's literally just as good. The food is not good, we didn't each most of it. The service is absolutely terrible, I don't understand- it's like they train them to not engage you and to try to ignore you. We were in Italy... More

We went to the restaurant. I emailed a month before our trip to reserve a table in the center by the rail overlooking the ocean. Some people will say it is over priced mediocre cuisine. We loved it. It was a beautiful night and our food was delicious. The staff is excellent. They were very kind and efficient. I ordered... More

Whilst the setting is undoubtedly beautiful and unusual, I would not recommend this restaurant. There is a 10 euro cover charge added to overpriced food. Our party of 15 were treated well and the food was fine but certainly not worth the price.

We stayed here for 4 nights. Rooms are small and worn down (air-condition broke down several times), but the sea view is great and the staff was friendly. Overall, the price is a rip-off considering what they offer; they simply live off the fact that they can control access to the Grotte Palazzese restaurant (that you really shouldn't miss when...
