A wonderful little place with clean and quiet rooms. The food is also excellent and well priced. We only had one day here, but I wish it was more. The hotel is right on the harbor, so you can take a nice stroll by the fishing boats and water. This was my favorite hotel we stayed in in Ireland.

Background: Family of 3 including a very active 3 year old toddler boy. Toddler is well behaved although he can have his days. Location: In the middle of downtown Portmagee overlooking the fishing pier with boats. Hospitality: Good hospitality but nothing extraordinary. The Moorings is attached to the restaurant. As soon as you walk in you will see the reception,... More

Myself and a friend booked a nights stay here as we were booked on an early boat out to the Skelligs the next morning. The location couldn't be more perfect with the pier and car park only across the road from the Moorings. The staff were really pleasant and took a genuine interest in our travel plans asking all about... More

We visited during the off season so it was super quiet. The staff was more than accommodating and even let us roam around the gift shop even though it was closed for the season. The room was perfect for the stay and the restaurant/bar attached served great food and beer. Again, the staff of both the bar and hotel were... More

Stayed here for one evening on our road trip in Ireland. Having stayed in 8 different places in Ireland on that trip, this unfortunately was not our favourite. Why so? The room was comfortable enough but strangely was quite a long walk from our room to the front desk! Front desk's attitude to guests was lukewarm and we didn't feel... More

A lovely guesthouse, with very high standards. Rooms are spacious & very comfortable. It has a very friendly atmosphere. It's family run. Food is great either from the bar or their award winning restaurant. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Even the free WiFi is good. It is opposite the little picturesque harbour.

Myself and my fiancee had a fabulous stay in the moorings on NYE 2014. The guesthouse was perfect for what we wanted. The staff throughout were helpful, diligent and above all smiling and happy. The food was excellent and plentiful. The rooms were clean and there is a focus on being a green guesthouse. We adhered to their policy where... More

This was my first experience of a news years eve in Portmagee, and it was absolutely brilliant! There's so much history here and I've not experienced an atmosphere like this before! The hotel is perfect and the staff are warm friendly and very welcoming. Food is spot on! All in all I can't find anything bad to say about this... More

Stayed here for the second time a few weeks ago; as usual we were made very welcome and had a peaceful, relaxing stay at The Moorings. It is very quiet in the area at that time of year, but that suits us very well. As The Moorings was also very quiet the lovely lady who welcomed us gave us their... More

Excellent location which enables you visit many local places of interest. Hospitality on a par with anything I have previously experienced. Owners very friendly and made us feel very welcome. A little quiet this time of year, but great value.
