Do not be deceived by the meager reception area. He rooms are large, modern and well maintained. The breakfast was among the best I have had. I ordered black sole which was lightly battered and perfectly cooked. The location is beautiful right across the street from the pier.

We stayed here a few weeks ago whilst travelling around the ring of kerry. The staff are extremely friendly, the accommodation itself was also clean, spacious and well maintained. However we seemed to be unlucky with the room we were given. No. 12 I believe it was, the music from downstairs in the bar echoed loudly throughout the room the... More

From the moment we arrived we knew this was going to be a great weekend. We received a warm & friendly welcome, accommodation was perfect, superb location. Huge choice of breakfast each morning served by very helpful & friendly staff in a beautiful marine themed restaurant. We ate each day in The Bridge Bar also part of the Moorings. Great... More

We paid the extra for a superior room with view. Portmagee is a tiny spot so not a lot of accomodation around. Superb location. Our window view was over the wharf and inlet. Enjoyed watching the working boats. Large comfortable room and very firm comfortable bed. We had room to relax and unwind and we're delighted to be able to... More

Average standards, but there are few alternatives in Portage. Comfortable but the the whirlpool function on the bath did not work and although the room was supposed to be made-up every day, it was not. Bit noisy on our first night to the early hours of the morning (3am) as Ireland were playing France at Rugby and also later they... More

Big room, we spread our luggage out on the desk and coffee table. Bathroom was clean and had a good shower. We ate dinner in the pub both nights, (sea)food was great. The pub was absolutely slammed on a Tuesday night (cuz Star Wars...which I don't think is typical), but Kieron kept us informed and fit us in...which was representative... More

We travel a lot and have stayed in many B&b's and Inn's so it takes a lot to impress us. But the Moorings could not have been better! The location right in the charming town of Portmagee was exactly what we needed on this rainy day. The room with sea view was not only beautiful but also quiet. And the wonderful... More

This place ticks all the boxes. Friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are cosy, comfortable and clean. The restaurant and food is excellent. Great local bar with music and set dancing on Friday nights - good Craic. Beautiful location in the charming fishing village of Portmagee, ideal for exploring Valentia Island and taking the boat trips to Skellig Micheal (world heritage site)-... More

This is my second stay at The Moorings in Portmagee and I enjoyed this stay even more than the last. Stayed in room #3, first room on your right, rear facing. Although a harbor view would have been preferred, my room was so lovely and spacious with a huge bathroom, I fell in love with it. Room 3 is in... More

We stayed at this hotel for 1 night with the intentions to go to Skellig Michael. It is the perfect location for this excursion, and the boats leave at 9:30am. We decided to forgo the Skelllig, but only because we had so many other things that we wanted to do that day. This hotel is so charming with a perfect location!... More
