Stayed here for one evening on our road trip in Ireland. Having stayed in 8 different places in Ireland on that trip, this unfortunately was not our favourite. Why so? The room was comfortable enough but strangely was quite a long walk from our room to the front desk! Front desk's attitude to guests was lukewarm and we didn't feel... More

A lovely guesthouse, with very high standards. Rooms are spacious & very comfortable. It has a very friendly atmosphere. It's family run. Food is great either from the bar or their award winning restaurant. The staff couldn't be more helpful. Even the free WiFi is good. It is opposite the little picturesque harbour.

Myself and my fiancee had a fabulous stay in the moorings on NYE 2014. The guesthouse was perfect for what we wanted. The staff throughout were helpful, diligent and above all smiling and happy. The food was excellent and plentiful. The rooms were clean and there is a focus on being a green guesthouse. We adhered to their policy where... More

This was my first experience of a news years eve in Portmagee, and it was absolutely brilliant! There's so much history here and I've not experienced an atmosphere like this before! The hotel is perfect and the staff are warm friendly and very welcoming. Food is spot on! All in all I can't find anything bad to say about this... More

Stayed here for the second time a few weeks ago; as usual we were made very welcome and had a peaceful, relaxing stay at The Moorings. It is very quiet in the area at that time of year, but that suits us very well. As The Moorings was also very quiet the lovely lady who welcomed us gave us their... More

Excellent location which enables you visit many local places of interest. Hospitality on a par with anything I have previously experienced. Owners very friendly and made us feel very welcome. A little quiet this time of year, but great value.

We were delighted with the quality of this Inn. The location is across the street from a small harbour with family-run fishing boats running in and out throughout the day. Very Picturesque location. Our room was large as well as the bathroom. We looked out over the water into the countryside. Food was excellent and spent the evening in the... More

The Moorings is a beautiful guesthouse with a hotel feel, breakfast is to die for and a huge selection of fresh and tasty food on offer, its located right on the harbour with amazing views,, less the 30m walk to catch the boat to Skellig Michael. The rooms are very clean and warm, there's a bar with traditional Irish music... More

my brother an I stayed in a sea view room - great to watch the boats bouncing around in the wind. The room was very comfortable. Wonderful breakfast in the morning- I took a break from the traditional Irish breakfast and went with the lemon sole that was freshly caught, otherwise an extensive menu.

Can't say enough. Food was great. People were so friendly. Rooms were excellent. Bed a little hard for my taste. Met the owner and his son helped my wife take the bags up stairs. Will stay again when in the area.
