Fit the environment yet modern, very comfortable family run B&B. Walk in shower a blessing after crawling over such tall narrow tubs for days in prior accommodations. Breakfast was served in style and delicious. Beds very comfortable.

We hadn't been to a European home Bed and Breakfast (B&B) since the 1970's and weren't expecting too much ( we were used to putting a shilling in the water heater for a still cold shower), but we were very happily disabused. Our room at Portmagee Heights was clean, had a beautiful view of Valencia Island, and had a comfortable... More

Exceptional B&Bs are hard to find, Portmagee Heights is one of the best I've stayed at. Monica, the owner is very welcoming and we had 2 beautiful, modern rooms with stunning views of Valentia Island. You'll sleep well and a hearty breakfast should get you started for your trip to Skellig Michael, if you're heading that way.

Had no reservations - just showed up...Gracious host and a quiet, clean room, spacious home with a lovely breakfast room and food. No clutter here! Great location within walking distance to the small town of Portmagee and Valencia Island is a 5 minutes drive.

We made our plans at the last minute and didn't expect much. However, we had a beautiful view of the countryside and bay. It was a short walk to town for food. It had the most modern decor and most up to date rooms that we have seen in 1 week of travel throughout Ireland. We were very comfortable and... More

Very comfortable and extremely quiet with wonderful views to Valentia from the back of the house. A bit of a walk to the village (10 minutes max?). Large, strong and warm shower. Room had small flat TV with local stations. Free WiFi, worked perfectly, but not fast enough to stream. Great breakfast (especially the pancakes with lots of fruit), lovely... More

We stayed for 2 nights and Monica arranged our Skellig trip. She was honest and forthcoming about the conditions and so generous with her time. The B & B is modern and clean, very spacious and commands exceptional views. The food was just excellent. A wonderful experience - so glad we chose to stay here!

We stayed two nights in Portmagee for a stop between the Ring of Kerry and Dingle, and for a trip to the Skelligs. Monica was a wonderful host and her B&B was beautiful! I really appreciated the fact that she set up everything for our trip to the Skelligs. Our room was very spacious, we had a great view, everything... More

Stayed here the night before our Skellig trip which Monica was nice enough to arrange for us as well! We were later than expected due to flight delays but she waited up for us and showed us to our room. The beds were super comfortable, rooms were very clean and the hospitality was very warm! We had breakfast the next... More

We spent the night at Portmagee Heights before a trip to Skellig Islands in the morning. Clean and modern and just a short walk from town, it was a nice and quiet place to stay. Monica was a lovely host, available and warm and friendly when needed. The view from our room was delightful.
