What we liked? - nice, friendly and helpful staff - hotel ammenities and garden - spectacular views - the rocky beach in Made - beach taverna in Lygaria (about 20 minute walk) - breakfast - the food in the hotel taverna What might be a nuisance? - distance from the beach (about 15-20 minute walk down the hill and up... After flying into Heraklion on a latenight flight from Athens, the hotel sent a taxi for us. The ride took about 20 minutes and cost 30 euros (4 of us). When we arrived late everything was waiting for us, the room was spacious and clean and the two sons (the owners) were very welcoming and accommodating. This is a family... More

Our experience at Spiros Soula is an ongoing almost yearly visit. It is the best family hotel in the area. Spiros (father) always welcomes you with a smile and Soula (mother) will suprise you with all the greek/cretan cooking. George (Jiorgos one of the sons) will try to arange anything you need from taking tou to the beach from calling... More

This is an ocean-view family run motel-style hotel. The rates are very reasonable, the rooms are comfortable and it's a great value. However, it was a little different than we expected based upon the reviews and the website - if tripadvisor allowed half stars I would give it 3.5. The rooms all face the pool/ocean - the higher rooms have... More

My partner and I recently stayed here and were not disappointed. We arrived to a warm greeting after a long flight and was shown to our clean comfortable room. Yiannis cooks the most amazing fresh, tasty food. We ate here alot and were never bored as there is lots of choice. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful, we loved sitting outside... More

Just returned from a great chill out holiday. What we wanted was good walking, good views, excellent food, clean, tidy room, well looked after grounds with a pool. This hotel ticked all the boxes. You'll probably choose this hotel if you need to chill out but are not afraid of hill walks and enjoy the challenge - or you like... More

Very old rooms needing urgent need of renovation (even the bed covers are from the 70's). Staff very friendly and try their best (breakfast is good also), but still staying in an environment like this can ruin your holiday.

We stayed here for four nights and were happy to find the hotel in a quiet and beautiful environment. It is away from the busy city center, but nonetheless very easy to access using public transport. Bus stops are very close to the hotel and you also have different beaches in walking distance. But if you decide to spend a... More

This hotel is off the beaten path a bit. I recommend renting a car so you can get around. If you want peaceful and relaxing, this is your place! Immediately after booking this hotel I received a confirmation email offering help booking a cab/rental car from the airport and directions to the hotel. I received another email from them on...
