Since last reviewed not much has happened here and unfortunately it shows. The room size is still the same but we had no drawers for our smalls. The bathroom was tired: grimy grout between the tiles; caved inside panel on bath. Cheap sachets for shampoo/body gel. Wifi only worked in the reception area. Staffing seemed to be a problem. May... Hostellerie de l'Abbaye is in the heart of a lovely village in the Var. It has a nice swimming pool and very acceptable bedrooms in a quiet, green space. The hotel staff are pleasant and helpful and the place is clean and comfortable. We thought the restaurant prices high, and the menu does not change, even by the week. Breakfast... More

There's not too many options in this small and beautiful town, and this is definitely the place to stay if you want good food and take a break. Prices are a little high (75€) but worthy to pay when everything else is full. Rooms are comfy and facilities are good in general. Restaurant is good and food are not too... More

We had two stays of one night each at either end of a cycling holiday. The room was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning welcome! The room was not large but not too small either and very clean. Home made ravioli for lunch was nice. The pool area was nice and clean and the pool a reasonable size. Service... More

This is an adequate hotel, with exceptionally friendly service. It has something of a motel feel about it, when one expects, in a small Provencal village, more charm. Rooms are boxy, and, frankly, a little shabby, and public areas, though brightened with a little superficial country kitsch, aren't too comfortable. Dinner involves massive amounts of unsubtle food, and breakfast is... More

We were staying near the village of Le Thoronet and based on reviews had decided to have a final day lunch at Le Tournesol which was identified as a new Restaurant in the village. However, the owner stated that he could not entertain a party of seven because he didn't have enough plates!! Respect his view and glad he didnt... More

The hotel is just a Michelin one house hotel, so we didn't expect much, but it was just fine. Not posh, but very pleasant and well-kept. Our room is actually two -- a very large room with a large bed and a second room with three twin beds. The people at the reception desk were not exactly charming, but they... More

When we looked through the Logis book this place is listed as a single chimney and a single marmite pot..not right! The website correctly identifies it as a 3 chimney and three pot. It is a modern building with very good sized rooms with excellent air con. The hotel is set back from the main road through the town in... More

A good hotel in the var countryside. Rooms very good but no balcony but with air conditioning. There is an outdoor pool with loungers. The restaurant food is very good and it is busy at lunch times as well as evenings. The staff seem very rushed when serving the food and lack the little touches that improve the experience that... We were greeted by an unsmiling receptionist - no 'Bonjour', nothing. Extremely disagreeable and unhelpful woman. (she improved marginally during the dinner service - but not a lot) Food was good but marred by the staff - our waiter looked like a nightclub bouncer, plates were slammed down and there were few smiling faces. Room was smallish and basic and... More
