Booked a holiday fairly last minute with Mountainbug and Rob and Emma dealt with everything promptly and provided lots of practical information of how to get to Les Cailloux. The chalet is situated in the village of Bareges which is just below the Col du Tourmalet. Stayed there for 6 nights and had a great time on the guided walks... More

We spent a week at Mountain Bug with our three teenagers. Everyone loved it. The chalet is so welcoming and comfortable. The cuisine is world class and abundant. Gary's creme brûlée is off the charts. We spent three days on a backcountry trek with Rob. What an adventure. Rob loves showing off the spectacular Pyrenees. He is incredibly knowledgeable and... Beautiful chalet in a lovely setting and ideally situated for all amenities. Food was fantastic and plenty of it. The "Taster" guided walks exceeded our expectations and catered well to our needs. We experienced more than we thought we were going to thanks to Robert and Emma's expertise.

Rob is a font of all knowledge and the guides he uses are all excellent. The food was delicious and the itinerary brilliantly planned. We loved every day of our holiday and will definitely go again! We really felt as if we were experiencing something off the beaten track and were genuinely challenged by the various activities we tried out.... More

We spent a week doing all sorts of adventures with Rob from Mountain Bug with our 10 year old daughter. We had lots of fun and faced our fears with caving, rock climbing, rafting and high ropes. All were superbly organised with expert local guides. The chalet is a delight and the food wonderful. Gary's Creme brûlée goes down as... More

Stayed here first in 2006 and returned again in 2015. Slightly different set up in that Chalet now run by hosts rather than Emma and Rob now they have 3 children. Chalet hosts Helen and Gary are superb, fantastic cooking for hearty appetites. We based ourselves in Bareges for cycling but also did some hiking. Nice communal feel of eating... More

We went on an adrenaline week which added hiking, mountain climbing, canyoning, caving, rafting and via ferrata (climbing assisted with artifical metal spikes in the cliff face) to the chalet accomodation in the pyreneese. Rob and Emma led or joined in several of the weeks events that really added to the experience they also could act as translator as required... More

What a wonderful week of walking we have had in the Pyrenees. Thanks to our guides Rob and Emma who new the area really well and imparted lots of interesting facts, pointing out birds, flowers and various geological facts! The walks were fabulous with stunning scenery. The chalet Les Cailloux was very clean, spacious and comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast, afternoon... More

We booked for the Pyrenees Explorer trip with Mountainbug at the end of May 2015 and stayed at Les Cailloux chalet in Barèges. During our week we did magnificent walks in the mountains across a variety of terrain. Rob, our guide, has a comprehensive knowledge of the tracks and routes in the area, and provided information about the geology, botany,... More

We are experienced mountain walkers and knew the Bareges area of the central Pyrenees well from summer visits, but our week's guided snow-shoe hill-walking with Rob Mason of Mountainbug gave us a completely new perspective. We had a truly wonderful holiday with him. The routes he chose were exciting and varied. Rather unimaginatively we hadn't realised how exciting show-shoeing is... More
