We stayed in this lovely little hotel for 2 nights, Weather was crap, but the hotel and the wonderful hosts made our short visit a great experience. The hotel is located on the path of a little stream, in an old building that seems to have been a villa in the past. Rooms are clean and nicely decorated. Books everywhere.... More

We booked Vallee Heureuse as it was conveniently placed as a stop-over on the way back to England from a week's skiing in Châtel. Upon arrival we were met by the host who took us directly to our quad room. This was nicely furnished and comfortable. At night, with the shutters closed it was pitch black and silent. Perfect for... A fleeting visit much to our regret. Wonderful welcome and comfortable rooms for a family of five. We arrived just before the restaurant closed but were cooked beautiful local food in a friendly and relaxed environment. Wish we could have spent more than an overnight stay with these superb hosts. Will come back!

We were en route home from Switzerland ski trip and our car suffered a rear brake problem we managed to limp it until we spotted the sign for Vallee Heureuse ,Isabelle and Patrice welcomed us in and they by chance had a lovely family room available even at 11pm they reopened the kitchen. We could not have broken down at... More

We stayed at the Moulin Vallee Heureuse for a couple of nights in late July/early August 2014 as part of a cycling tour of the area. Isabelle and Patrice welcomed us almost as if family, as they came to the door as we arrived and showed us where to keep our bikes, then to our room, and what a room!... More

Isabelle and Patrice received us with warm and kind attention as you only find with people that love what the do in life! The Hotel is in an old mill along a little river with several cascades along the property. it is 2 km just away from the center of the village of Poligny. Our room was perfect and clean,... More

nice surprise on arrival with the setting and pool etc, the owners were a bit eccentric to say the least but in a friendly way! the interior looked like a car boot sale explosion, books, board games, paintings everywhere but it gave the place a quirky charm. Pool was great, hot tub as well, service odd but very accomdating, room... More

This place wasn't quite what we were expecting, but we nonetheless enjoyed our stay. It has very much a B&B feel - almost like staying with an eccentric aunt and uncle. The whole property is slightly damp, mouldy and run-down, but the new rooms are quite fancy. But even they have a delightfully wacky selection of mis-assorted distressed furniture. A... More

The hotel was originally a water mill & has been converted into a small hotel using some rooms in the original building & by creating a new wing of 5 or 6 rooms that run out over the mill stream. First impressions were rather alarming - the drive down from the road was untidy, the garden unkempt & the route... More

Nice, modern hotel including indoor and outdoor swimming pool. We arrived all 17 of us including 9 children from 0 to 9 years old. Not only the cook prepared great food, he actually got them to work and serve some dishes. France like I remember it when I went visiting a farmer uncle in the 70's. The hotel itself is... More
