What kind of hotel lets dogs run through them. I have come to expect unfriendly service in france but not dogs running about the hotel. The werid decoration also has dogs. A very gay hotel. In addition, they charge 6 euros to park which is not made clear to you during the booking or checking in time. The only good... more

Tried to get into the Cheval Blanc but full, so ended up here. The standard room (75 Euros) was really small, so upgraded to a superior room for 20 Euros extra. The owners had obviously spend some time and money on refurbushing the place and it did look welcoming and clean. There was the grandaughter, all of 4 years old,... more

Reading the other reviews it is a case of "one person's meat is another's poison". It certainly is a place that splits opinion. Let's deal first with some of the negatives that others have expressed. Old? Yes but it is clean and the interior decor is pretty new - even if it doesn't look it. Breakfast? - Never take it... more

While I have no outstanding complaints about this hotel, I did find it rather "ordinary". The building is very old......as is the entire town...and you may well find this part of the charm, but old and original did not appeal to me on this occasion. Check in was completed without fuss and there was parking "out the back" but our... more

We were pleasantly suprised by this hotel. We chose it as a stop off on our way from Calais to Switzerland. We needed secure parking, as we had a car full of luggage and a previous trip advisor review had said they had used it for the same reason. As it turned out it's not really secure parking but the... more

We booked the suite and the room was lovely. Staff were initially very friendly and check-in was swift. The car park is very handy in a busy small town. The breakfast was not so good. There were no clean tables to sit at and a complete lack of staff working there. Once a table was obtained, staff again had to... more

Looks recently redecorated. It was warm, comfortable with good showers and secure parking, (important for us with a loaded vehicle on the way to Italy). We stayed one night and did not eat breakfast so can't comment on that. I booked directly and the receptionist spoke excellent english. There was no restaurant in January but the hotel is right in... more

I have used this hotel several times over the years. We have always used this as a stop over on our way to or from Italy. It was always friendly, but in need of a bit of a make over. What a pleasant surprise when we arrived this year to find that the hotel was being completely renovated. The room... more

Last May I wandered over to this hotel after being told the two more expensive hotels on the main street were full (a two minute walk). I found it to be an excellent value. The owners were very helpful and friendly (and have a very friendly, cute dog). The room was nice, having a bit of character, very quiet and... more
