We went several times to Les Merles. Everytime welcomed by the friendly staff. Food is good as allways, rooms nice and clean, environment pretty and green. The great courtyard always invites for lunch, drinks or dinner by candlelight.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at the Chateau Les Merles. Beautiful building, in a quiet location, so a car is an absolute must. Our room was right at the top of the hotel so glad we only had light bags! Room was lovely, except electrics rather unreliable, and towels that were damp and smelt musty. As for wi-fi... More

Blown away by the beauty and sheer elegance of the Chateau. All of the staff are so friendly and amazing at what they do. The food melts in your mouth and the local wine is a must have. Huge Deluxe room with large bathroom overlooking the pool and golf course. We would go back tomorrow if we could.

We stayed for 4 days of our honeymoon. The location is fantastic and lots of interesting places to visit nearby. The grounds are a delight to walk around. The restaurant is a lovely place to sit in the evening and the food marvellous. The manager is very friendly and welcoming. They might want to rethink the stroppy waiter though -... More

We travelled as a family of 5 and stayed in the apartment which was stunning. It was really comfortable, clean, stylish and well appointed. It had a private terrace. The bathrooms were a bit small but very nice. The wifi was only available in the communal areas which was a little annoying. The hotel is situated in a beautiful area... More

As a family of 5 with 3 young children, I'd requested a room or rooms suitable. When we arrived we had one disabled room and another double, but not connecting, so we had to split up, one adult in each room, as the rooms opened outside, not ideal. And the rooms were not that great and not particularly cheap either.... More

We have just returned from a lovely few days at the Chateau with our 5 and 7 year old children and young baby. The staff were all, welcoming, accommodating and made a huge effort to engage with the children. We were told we could let them roam and we felt safe to do so, exploring the golf course, feeding the... More

We had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to dine at the Chateau les Merles during our visit to Bergerac. At our first visit we ordered from the menu and everything was superb, from the delicious appetizers to the main courses. The restaurant staff that looked after us (Charlie & Max) were attentive and very personable and friendly. We returned... More

I have just read the review below and do agree with some of the points the lady made but I don't feel as strongly about the downsides, except for the issue with the bath/shower. This is an accident waiting to happen, I should have made a comment to the management but I'm afraid I didn't. I was ok until I... More
