We travelled as a family of 5 and stayed in the apartment which was stunning. It was really comfortable, clean, stylish and well appointed. It had a private terrace. The bathrooms were a bit small but very nice. The wifi was only available in the communal areas which was a little annoying. The hotel is situated in a beautiful area... More

Nice pool and a bonus of 9 hole golf course.Plenty of walks direct from Hotel. We were tranfered to a villa as there was a large wedding Party. Villas very spartan but have a seperate pool... More

As a family of 5 with 3 young children, I'd requested a room or rooms suitable. When we arrived we had one disabled room and another double, but not connecting, so we had to split up, one adult in each room, as the rooms opened outside, not ideal. And the rooms were not that great and not particularly cheap either.... More

We have just returned from a lovely few days at the Chateau with our 5 and 7 year old children and young baby. The staff were all, welcoming, accommodating and made a huge effort to engage with the children. We were told we could let them roam and we felt safe to do so, exploring the golf course, feeding the... More

We had the wonderful opportunity to be invited to dine at the Chateau les Merles during our visit to Bergerac. At our first visit we ordered from the menu and everything was superb, from the delicious appetizers to the main courses. The restaurant staff that looked after us (Charlie & Max) were attentive and very personable and friendly. We returned... More

I have just read the review below and do agree with some of the points the lady made but I don't feel as strongly about the downsides, except for the issue with the bath/shower. This is an accident waiting to happen, I should have made a comment to the management but I'm afraid I didn't. I was ok until I... More

Chateau Les Merles Dangerous, noisy and difficult to sleep My daughter and I booked in for the weekend but left as early as possible after our first night......it was far too irritating! I started writing this review at 5.00 in the morning as there was nothing else to do......given I couldn’t sleep. The owner needs to deal with a few... More

We have just returned from a three night break at this fantastic hotel and we wish it could have been longer. From the warm welcome with a glass of 'champagne', to the excellent food and wine and the very attentive staff nothing was too much trouble. I even had an impromptu French lesson from that lady who served breakfast which... More

We have been here a couple of times already in 2014, and this place is certainly on the up. The 3 course Menu at €25 is simply amazing value and the quality of the food is wonderful . Great location, can sit outside in the courtyard in good weather , or inside the bistro or restaurant area in poor weather.... More

We just returned from the most wonderful lunch at Chateau Les Merles. This wonderful hotel restaurant has been consistently good for years. It has a relaxed but upscale atmosphere. The table ware and linens are perfect. The service the perfect balance between professional and friendly. The food and wine have always been amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant.
