Lovely stay at Chateau Les Merles. The restaurant is outstanding - incredible food and wine at very reasonable prices, with welcoming and knowledgeable staff. Somehow it managed to feel like a treat for adults whilst also being very welcoming for kids. Ours loved the homemade chicken nuggets (nothing like the fast food version). We loved nearly every dish we tried,... More

Seven of us, including three children, popped in here for lunch. Dined outside where tables are divided between the golfing fraternity and the hotel/guests diners. Staff were helpful and attentive, in particular where the children were concerned and through the extended meal provided any help and assistance required. Whilst this is not a cheap and cheerful restaurant, it has a... More

Lovely hotel great food very reasonably priced we stayed in room 7 which was lovely the only problem with this hotel was the insulation between rooms there is none- we were kept awake til 1.30 by the people upstairs talking loudly then woken up at 6 - not the best hotel if a little noise bothers you - it doesn't... Not close enough for us to pop in but whenever we go to bergerac airport we call in here for lunch. There is a great choice of snack food ( delicious chèvre salad) and 3 course menu for hungrier folk. The ambience and service are excellent. It is always open throughout the year and in the winter have a cosy... More

Service generally very good Attractive setting and great first impression on arrival The bad :- Room damp and musty smelling. Room decoration my grandmother would have loved. We were booked in here by our agent when looking for a property in this area so we didn't get to learn about this chateaux before seeing it, we were quite disappointed with the room we were given, as usually when we stay in a chateau, we actually are in the main building, and this was a very small room... Chateau Les Merles was to be a highlight of your 6 week holiday being the only 'Chateau' we were staying in. After paying for a deluxe room we expected to enjoy a stay in a lovely period style room with a view, unfortunately this was not the case. The upside of our stay was the exceptional service we encountered from... More

This is the second time myself and my husband have had the pleasure in staying at this beautiful hotel. The new Perigord kitchen served some of the most mouthwatering food we made it our mission to eat as much from the menu as possible during our week and not once were we disappointed. It was also a breath of fresh... More

The hotel staff are incredibly attentive and generous. Honestly cannot praise them enough. We enjoyed a lovely one night stay - the food was fantastic as well. The only criticism we could find was that the pool was a bit fresh! Will be coming back next year.

Overall our stay at Chateau les Merles was incredible. We are a couple in our mid 20's who wanted some down time to relax, the setting/hotel delivered perfectly. The whole area is very relaxed and laid back, with great wine & food served in & around the hotel. I have landed on 4*, this is only because there are a... More
