I was here last year for New Years and returned this year over Christmas and the owners just continue to improve on something that is hard to improve on. It's been a little over a year since they took over and they have made it a warm friendly place to stay and relax. The staff; Raul, Roger, Johnny, Jason they... More

Did not stay at the hotel. No one was available to seat us so we asked if we could sit anywhere. "No." was the answer. 12 minutes until someone brought a menu. 14 minutes before we received a glass of water and ordered beers. 15 minutes to take food order. 35 minutes to receive overcooked, unrecognizable fish dinner, cold side... We did not stay at the hotel but experienced a wonderful time at the bar and restaurant. Johnny greeted us and introduced himself before he took our drink order. The kids played in the pool while we enjoyed the sunset and spectacular view of the Whale's Tail at Marine Ballena down below. We had such a great happy hour, we... More

While we did not stay at the hotel we sure did enjoy the restaurant and bar! Very nice people and superior service in the edge of a remote juggle. The property has recently and still is being renovated by own Tim Fenton and family. The property has the feel of luxury with a personal touch. The staff is beyond excellent,... More

We did not stay here because we prefer smaller resorts but we did go here 2 nights in a row for sunset cocktails. The view is incomparable! The staff was great. We were the only ones in the whole place because we were just before the busy season, but the staff nonetheless made us feel very welcomed. I loved that... More

We had no trouble with the road/driveway,but it was dry during our stay. We liked the pool area the best. The view from the room, pool, and grounds was outstanding. The hotel grounds were beautifully landscaped. The nachos and breakfast were delicious (fried eggs a little overdone). The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was great, everything worked well. We would... More

rainy season is a challenge if you want stay in this hotel. it takes a while to get up to the hotel on a slippery road. it was a good hotel but we tought the price was a bit high if you looked at condition the room was in (just some extra look at detail in bath and bedroom)...the view... More

We stayed 2 nights and were totally impressed with everything this hotel had to offer. The food was amazing as well as the staff. Johnny is a very attentive member of the truly sincere staff members. The owners Tim and Tiffany are so accommodating and we will be back.

We have stayed in this area a few times, this was our first visit to Whales and Dolphins. We were pleasantly surprised by the amenities, cleanliness, comfort, value, hospitality, as well as the incredible view of Whales Tail. Johnny was especially accommodating, making sure we had an early breakfast ( due to departure flight in San Jose) well before the regular... More

We met Johnny (a worker at this restaurant) in the super market. He told us about the all you can eat tues buffet ( just in June) , so we decided to check it out. It's a steep drive, but possible to do without four wheel drive. The views are stunning, we sat at the bar and had a few... More
