Tucked way back up by the waterfall, this is a lovely place to spend a few days. The road is an obnoxious walk but I loved the place itself. The kitchen is really amazingly well equipped- we cooked dinner for ten while two other small groups made dinner for themselves. We weren't short on knives, plates, pans, or even sinks.... More

My wife and I stayed here after another hostel messed up our reservation with them. Julie was able to work with us last minute to accomate us. We stayed 5 days and never felt closer to home as Julie & her family made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped into the hostel. From the shared eating area, the... More

Even though we were in on a very tight schedule whilst travelling around Costa Rica, by the end of the first night we had already extended our stay. There's no way to fault Cascada Verde. The location is perfect, situated in the jungle (with surprisingly few bugs). You'll have opportunities to see some spectacular wildlife if you keep your eyes... More

We loved the hostel runned by Julie and her family. The sorroundings were fantastic and I felt the hotel was a truly eco meeting superb cleaniness (sometimes hotels confuse eco with dirt but it is not the case here). We were there with a 9year old girl who enjoyed the daily visit from the monkeys in the breakfast area. The... More

Is not about the nature or surroundings, they are beautiful. Costa Rica in general is beautiful!!! The hotel, formerly Cascada Verde Eco Lodge, a nightmare in service when we stayed. We decided to book several rooms for 4 nights, 5 rooms, 13 adults and 2 small children, for our annual family reunion. Breakfast paid too. Everything was handled via email... More

I had very mixed feelings about my stay at Cascada Verde. While it was warm and welcoming and set amidst a beautiful forest, there´s also a complete lack of privacy, a sense of isolation (can be good and bad), and you´re sure to emerge covered in bug-bites if you´re not careful. The following PROs and CONs are listed in order... More

Sorry for the kid's noise! But we don't know what to do if guests get up so early... And I checked our email conversation again: You were right! We said 16$. I feel very bad... I noted it wrong in my book. Please apologize! You get a nice discount if you visit us again :-) Because of the bugs: I'm... More

Peaceful, serene atmosphere, and open concept design. It was like staying on platforms in a forest tree-house. The kitchen is spacious and very well equipped, and there are lots of hammocks and quiet areas to enjoy the surroundings. A five minute walk to lovely waterfall and dips in the cascade pools costs only $1 per person, which goes to maintain... More

You feel at home the minute you drop your bags and start relaxing in the hammock. The family that runs the hostel is so nice and friendly. The big shared kitchen invites to meet other people. There is a waterfall just a 5 minutes walk, where you can swim and relax. The village is a 15 minutes walk, with an... More

I spent only one night here, but I could have easily spent much longer. The hostel is about a 30 minute walk from town, far from street noise and craziness. We stayed in the loft for $7 pp where we had an open-air view of forest through a mostly bamboo building. Perfect place for peace.
