This was one of my favourite places to stay in Costa Rica. It is a hostel with fairly basic but comfortable rooms (ours was family room) which have flimsy bamboo walls with openings on to the corridors so prepare for little privacy. Could do with more pillows (just like everywhere in CR!) but it has a magical, free, laid back... More

Cascada verde is the place to stay if you want to have a nice and cheap place in the middle of the jungle. Very comfortable, cosy and quiet, this hostel has a wonderful open kitchen and several places you can make yours. It is located in the hills of Uvita, a typical village of Costa Rica, close to a waterfall... More

This is one of the best hostels of all time! The setting within the jungle is amazing, everything is so spacious, tidy and well thought through, there are so many comfortable seating areas the kitchen is well equipped, the wifi worked well... I especially loved the open top floor veranda with an insane view! We saw white faced capuchin monkeys... More

This place is a little off the beaten path. It's better if you have a truck or 4x4 to get here. We had a small compact car and had to go very slowly the last kilometer or so because the roads are rough and rocky. It was well worth finding though. You can't see the place until you walk up... More

I cannot recommend this place enough, excellent value for money and a fantastic introduction to Costa Rica! By far the best place we've stayed. The hostel was beautiful with amazing wildlife all around. Julie was a great host, everything you could need was there. Travel info was really helpful and the kitchen was one of the best I've ever experienced!... More

I absolutely love everything about this place really, what is not perfect is simply character. I think the amenities are fine, the kitchen fantastic, and the place itself, sublime. The staff are wonderful, attentive and always available to help at a moments notice with anything with in reason. It is lights out and quiet after ten PM, so it's more... More

I stayed at this hostel during the Envision Festival a few weeks ago. This hostel is ABSOLUTELY the best! The communal cooking area is roomy and clean with 2 stoves and 3 sinks/dish cleaning areas, plenty of refrigeration and storage area for your non-perishables. Set in a jungle complete with monkeys hollering at night, hammocks to relax in, and owners... More

I loved our short stay at Hostel Cascada Verde. Julie, the owner, welcomed my husband and me late in the night, after hours, after we had been detoured due to landslides on our way from San Jose. We were so grateful...and so tired. Our room with a double platform bed opened to the 2nd level yoga terrace and overlooked the... More

The surroundings of the hostel are great. At night you hear all the sounds from the jungle. The open communal kitchen is perfect and really really big. The atmosphere is Nice and friendly. Just beware that everything is very open. As a result it can be noisy in your room, people can sometimes even see you in your room and... More

Thank you for your nice and helpful review! It is clearly described on our website and in our confirmation emails that everything is open but sometimes people overread this information - that makes reviews like yours even more helpful. Thanks again! More
