We made friends with some people that were staying at Flutterby and after seeing it we immediately made plans to stay there the next night. Our cabin was perfect and the two dinners they offered while we were there (Falafel and Cobb salad) were absolutely amazing. It is so close to the beach and everyone is so friendly and helpful.... This is the most well-designed and thought out hostel that I stayed in during my whole trip. Plenty of bathrooms, sinks, stoves, dishes, books and beer. My only complaint is that the mosquito net did not adequately cover the bed in the cabina my friend and I were in and it was extremely buggy! Beware of tiny black gnats that... More

Unexpected groovy spot after along trip was fun to encounter! Friendly staff! And great place to meet fellow travelers! Loved the common kitchen! Floors on the cabins are made of wood and dont completly seal it from the outside so you can expect some bugs walking around, the beds have moskito nets :) No A/C You can also camp there!... More

We spent two days at the Flutterby House and had a great time! All the prior reviews are spot on - nice people, great scenery, unique setting and good food! Also extremely affordable - especially the drinks! Nearby beach is beautiful and definitely take surf lessons with Rama- he's the best! Know what to expect though - this is closer... More

A friend of mine recommended this place when I mentioned that I was going on vacation there. Not sure what to expect from the pictures and reviews. It's one of those places you have to experience. What is paradise for one person can be hell for another. I stayed for 5 days in June. Humidity was uncomfortable for me and... More

We walked to Flutterby House to rent bikes. What a great place full of fun folks. The staff are professional and kind. Their location can't be beat. We found the beach very close and walked to the other Uvita entrance. We did not stay there as I need A/C in the June heat, but it looked like a perfect place... More

I was planning to stay for no more than two days. But I just couldn't get away from this place! Beautiful people, good food, welcoming vibes, clean surroundings and perfectly located for beach/surf lovers and mango fanatics. I really recommend this one..

My girlfriend and I very recently spent four amazing days here at the Flutterby House during our week-long vacation in Costa Rica. We loved the place so much that we considered just cancelling our flight home, quitting our jobs, and staying in Costa Rica for...well, a long while. We arrived here tired and sore after a full twenty-four hours of... More

Found myself here after leaving a bad experience in OSA mountain village. Met the nicest and coolest people, plus I got to sleep in a tree house. Kim the owner is super cool and Sara behind the front desk and bar rocks. I hope to one day find myself back here again as it has been a tranquil bit of... More
