This was more like a motel than a hotel. It is just off the main road (near an American truck stop) and about 1.5km from the beach. When we arrived, it took a while for us to find someone who worked there. The reception wasn't open. The rooms are basic, but cozy. The only thing lacking was a safe. The... More

We stayed a few nights and felt so safe and comfortable at Luz de Luna. Nice pool and the attached restaurant has wonderful food and reasonable prices! Patricia and Felipe are super friendly and helpful and we would stay here again when in the area! After no A/C for a few weeks elsewhere, we loved the luxury they provide and... More

We ended up here after our original reservations fell through. Patricia greeted us warmly and personally showed us to our room. While the room is not fancy it was comfortable. We felt very safe there. The attached restaurant had a complementary breakfast daily. Uvita is a small town and this was one of the nicer hotels in the area.

Uvita and the area around it are far less touristy than many areas; that means a little more rugged than one may expect, but that is the charm. The best part?: Luz De Luna: clean rooms (but not big), AC works just fine, sizable bathrooms, reliable wifi. The pool is a nice touch. They give good advice on what activities... More

This is a very nice, small hotel. The rooms are very clean. The air conditionner works well. The beds are very firm. The pool is nice and the showers are great. The hosts greeted us with a pitcher of lemonade which was much appreciated after a day of travelling. We had pizza in the restaurant on site for supper. It... More

In Luz de Luna we felt really well, especially the pool was geourgious after a sunny day at Playa Uvita. The People are very helpful, organise shuttles, day trips and have allways great advice what to do. Furthermore the food in the restaurant with the same name is very good. Ten minutes walk from there is the entrance to the... More

Me and my friends stayed at the hotel for 1 night. Overall impression is very good - clean rooms, comfortable beds, very flexible owners (we were during off-season) - no issue with early check in (12pm) nor late check out (2-3pm after organized tour). However, unpleasant experience with the room rate. We booked 2 rooms separately under different names (1... More

Hotel Luz de Luna is a rare find. It is a family operated enchanting hotel with an incredible restaurant. The interior designs of the rooms were contemporary and extremely clean. The restaurant had a charming atmosphere with fantastic service. After eating dinner that evening, a good night's sleep and the complementary breakfast the next morning, we extended our stay. The... When we turned off the main road onto a dirt/gravel track and pulled up outside we were a little concerned as it didnt look like much was around....we didn't have our own transport. The rooms are basic but nice, you don't need anything. The dining room and gardens are lovely. Breakfast is included and all meals are fantastic! Vines and... More
