Visited the hotel with a group of friends. We were made to feel really welcome and as we were a largeish party we were advised to sit in the bar with a beer while they sorted us out each in turn. I was really happy with my room; flowers on the bed, clean towels and a shower with hot water... More

This is a marvelously situated small hotel, but it is in need of some maintenance. (In my case it was the showerheads and water fountain). But the mosquito nets were perfect, as was the air conditioning. We thought that the restaurant was great (the thai chicken soup notably was fantastic) - though the service was generally slow. The meals were... More

Coral Rock was a lovely place to stay. My friend and I had just completed a safari on the mainland and it was the perfect place to unwind before heading back to reality. Rooms were clean and the staff friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also fantastic with lots of fresh seafood. We were there during the end of Ramadan... More

Good, clean hotel; great staff amazing food. A little far from Stone Town so exchange the money you will need while still in the capital as the rate is less favorable there. The beach is breathtaking (although a little rocky during low tide) with amazing snorkeling also. Good value for money overall

The hotel is very pleasant, right on the beach, the little chalet rooms with terraces are particularly nice. Also had monkeys on the terrace in the trees which saved me a trip to the monkey forest. Not a luxury resort but clean and pleasant. Recommended!

Let me start with the one and only thing what I disliked. I was so "ingenious" and "circumspect" that I choosen only hotel on a 20 km long beach whick is built on a 6-7 meter high rock. This also would not be a significiant problem (better view on the ocean, protection from tsunami hahaha) but there is no fence... More

Many thanks for your kind feedback and your choosing us to host you and your family. As the father of a 13 month old lightning quick child that is yet to develop an understanding of gravity I can totally understand what you're saying :o) We get a lot of young families staying with us, and I can honestly assure you... Really enjoyed slow relaxing Saturdays and Sundays during my 6 weeks volunteering trip to Jambiani. Good food, free wifi, beautiful views of amazingly green ocean, friendly stuff, nice pool area. Club nights were fun, too! Highly recommended if you live nearby and looking for places to hang out with friends.

The Coral Rock Hotel in Zanzibar is a stunning gem on the Zanzibar coast. About an hour's drive from Stone Town, transit from the airport/seaport was easy, once you get past the throngs of porters and illegitimate taxis. The whole staff at Coral Rock was friendly, and chatting with them was a highlight of the trip. On our last day,... More

This was my second time to Zanzibar, previously I stayed further up north at a big resort and wanted something more low key. Coral Rock was absolutely great! It had a cozy feel, the room was a good size (we had one with a private patio), and Neil helped us arrange a few good tours. The food was overpriced, but... More
