I have stayed at the Amora probably 10 times in the last couple of years and the place has a feeling of being on a downward spiral. Things have got so bad I actually wrote a note to management to complain. The trigger for this was a room service burger I ordered which would easily be the worst room service... more
I stayed at Amora Riverwalk during April as my company had booked me there. Upon arrival at the hotel I was greeted by the most friendly reception team. Check-in was an absolute breeze and with in moments I was in my room. The room looked out over their central courtyard and down towards the river, the setting was gorgeous. The... more
The Amora Riverwalk hotel is situated on a Tram Line about 8 kms from Melbourne city centre. The hotel was formerly Rydges Riverwalk Hotel and has been recently renovated to about a 3 .5 star rating. The breakfast in the resturant is not value for money and really needs improving. Do not bother having dinner here as the standard of... more
Stayed at the Amora for 2 nights over easter for a wedding. Upon arrival, we asked if it was possible to have a room wih a king bed. The feller at reception searched and offered us a free upgrade. Room was large, bed was great, room service outstanding. The buffet breakfast was average. Worth trying one of the cafes only... more
The car parking was excellent and the room was lovely but that is where to good parts stop. Nicely furbished room with a little balcony that looked onto the roof of a marquee and everyone elses balcony. Not much was complimentary with the room. Minimal personal goods were supplied. The worst part of the room was that the toilet was... more
My husband and I stayed at the Amora for one night in a court yard room. It is definately above average for a hotel located out of the City. It is close enough to the city for you to catch a tram and be in the heart of the CBD in 15 mins (located just out front door). I only... more
Amora Riverwalk Hotel June 2007 My husband and I stayed in a spa suite and it was fantastic! The elegantly furnished suite consisted of a huge bedroom with a king size bed, lots of pillows and cushions, lounge chair with ottoman, TV, spacious bed-side tables with reading lamps and 3 (opening) windows with views of the Yarra River and gardens.... more
I was booked in for 3 weeks, and had to move rooms after 2 which was a bit of an inconvenience. The rooms were reasonably sized, though INCREDIBLY dark. As I had a room (or 2 rooms) facing into the centre of the complex, no sun got through to my room whatsoever, which is a shame in the middle of... more
Room was clean and of a fair size. Although some of the fit-out was a bit worn. The hotel had all the standard equipment for a Australian hotel - decent bathroom, average beds, tea and coffee making equipment. The prime advantage of this hotel is its location on the Yarra River in Richmond. It is very close to the Bridge... more
