My family and I stayed at the Manataray Lodge for 3 days in May of 2012, a month before whale-watching season began. We arrived at Manta from Quito early in the morning and our guide, Limberg, and driver were outside waiting for us with signs in hand. Although it was almost a three hour drive from the airport, when we... More

Hi Cati_Fdz, we are glad you had a wonderful experience, we do have bugs because we are in the middle of the National Park but it’s manageable. Thanks again for your comments. More

The place is beautiful, the staff very helpful, but the place could be cleaner, they did not have extra pillows, our room had a balcony with an outstanding view, but no place to sit down or sunbath except for two cheap plastic chairs! The food was terrible, with just one selection, the dessert made us laugh, one night it was... More

Dear cruzed, the place as you say its beautiful and staff is helpful. We are aware the hotel needs to be cleaner and we are working on that. We do have extra pillows for your convenience, what we don’t have is different types of pillows. The food is local food, always fresh and made by local chefs. More

The hospitality, the outside jacuzzi and location were great. Always helpful, they organised a our fabntastic whale watching trip and a great tour to the dry forest. No TV in the rooms and not enough space to hang up our clothes were down points. Nevertheless I would recommend this hotel if you stay in Puorto Lopez and have a car.

hi Marijke W, glad you like our hotel, in fact there is no TV, we try to make guests disconnect, the Machalilla National Park is a great place for no TV! We are working on the space in our closets, we have changed the configuration of them hopefully more clothes can hang now. More

Nice Mediterranean style hotel with nice view from the hills upon the Pacific Ocean and Isla de la Plata. Unfortunately, we didn't have a warm welcome when we arrived. The rooms are clean, but we didn't have a lot of warm water for a shower, and upon arrival, there were no towels in the bathroom. There is no internet access.... More

I just spent my holidays at Mantaraya Lodge with my daughter and we had a GREAT experience. The location is awesome, the whale watching tour incredible and we learned a lot about whales, Puerto Lopez and Isla de la Plata in Machalilla National Park. Food and rooms are excellent too and local people are extremely kind. This is a great... More

This was the nicest place we stayed while exploring the Ruta del Sol. The hotel is very picturesque and surrounded by lush green vegetation. The rooms are spacious with nice patios or balconies where one sit and see all sorts of interesting birds. We ate at the restaurant several times during our stay and everything was delicious. The staff are... More

Good location outside of town. Town is too far to walk and is downhill going there but uphill on the way back! This is not a problem as they can call a taxi for you (motorbike taxi). They have a restaurant that serves good food although limited choice. Pool is nice but unheated so depending when you go there it... More

Dear Benzi, thanks for your comments, our staff works very hard on satisfying the client’s needs; we work with high quality local staff that is difficult to find. The uphill from the beach can be a problem but the local taxi is the perfect solution. We are working on the noise in the room. Thanks again for your input. More

We stayed here in September. The weather was changeable and we would recommend anyone staying her to consider what time of year you visit.
