Hostel is right on beach front so location is perfect for tours (there's not much else to do in Puerto Lopez). Kitchen wasn't clean nor well equipped but you can eat in town cheaply. Wifi good, staff friendly and helpful. We got a clean double room with decent mosquito net for same price as two dorm beds. You can also... More

Turned up at this hostel in the night when it was raining hoping to get a bed. They had no room for us but said they could set up some tents for $5 a night plus a $3 renting fee. They set up these tents for us with air beds and everything - luxury camping in a tree house! They... More

A friend recommended this hostel to me, a funky little spot that feels like you're in a treehouse. Puerto Lopez was our first stop on the coast, and we ended up staying three nights, camping. The hostel is quite literally on the beach, but far enough down to give it a secluded, traquilo feel. The owners were great, and their... More

We stayed at this wonderful place for three nights. We really were treated like family and will definitely stay here again when we return. Our experience was similar to all of the glowing reviews. We stayed in the private room with private bath. The queen bed was comfortable and had mosquito netting. The room had air conditioning and was quiet.... More

As a family with three teenagers plus a teenage friend, we were welcomed by Maria and her entire crew and family the minute we arrived in Puerto Lopez. We stayed for a week with daily spanish lessons and excursions to he beaches and the Isla a la Plata. Maria provided for all our needs including three fantastic meals a day.... More

We stayed in the treehouse upstairs which is very nice as you have a few on the ocean. Its very simple but we liked it. There´s a big terrace and hammocks in front of your door. We saw the other rooms downstairs there are more comfortable but we choosed the treehouse. The family is very nice and helpful and all... More

We were in Puerto López for a day already and stayed in another cheap hostel we found but walking past the tree house at Monte Líbano we loved to stay in it. Very adventurous and right of the beach. A heavenly night were the sound of the waves put us to sleep. Also Maria and her husband are really nice... More

Great location for this small B&B/hostal in Puerto Lopez. It's a bit further on the beach from the main busy center but easy to access and very peaceful. The rooms are very basic but the view from the terrasse is great. The staff is extra nice and will do anything to help you.

Maria and Pedro are such gracious hosts. Though the tree house that we were hoping to occupy wasn't yet ready, we still chose to stay here because of the great location and the friendliness of Maria and Pedro. We had a private room/bathroom that was very spacious and met all of our needs. Guests are welcome to cook in the... More

Even though at the end of Puerto Lopez Malecon, it is worth the walk to this excellent hostel. Maria and Pedro are great hosts, and will really pay attention to your needs, so that you feel at home right away. Rooms are big, all equipped with mosquito nets. They are well maintained and the showers are very good. There are... More
