The prices do not include taxes. A room for 3 on the website says it costs $66, but we ended up paying $80. This is because their price doesn't account for taxes unlike most other hostels I've stayed at. They advertise hot water, but our shower water was freezing. We talked to a worker who said there was an electrical... More

The inside is cosy with hamacas, a swimming pool, a nice breakfast space... the room was ok... a very quiet hotel with discret owners... the breakfast was all included... piedra del mar is located only few meters from the beach, from the port to go to isla de la plata... I recommend this place for all the travelers for it... More

This is the second time we have stayed at Piedra del Mar and this year it was under different management. Santiago, the new owner is very nice and kind. He allowed our dog to stay with us and during the trip our dog became sick. He helped us find a vet to help her and even personally took us there... More

Everyone is very helpful and friendly. Good place to practice your Spanish as not all of the staff is fluent in English. Great location near food and beach. At night Tito makes great drinks for reasonable prices but you are welcome to bring in beer to enjoy in the community area. Manager Santiago lives on site with his family and... More

I feel tempted to start off with something like "Readers, I have reserved Travelers Choice properties. I knew Travelers Choice properties. Travelers Choice properties have been like friends of mine. Piedra del mar, you are no Travelers Choice property." I have written over a hundred candid reviews and this is the first time I feel obligated to totally disagree with... More

Probably the best place to stay in Puerto López. Quite cozy, friendly staff and very clean. Breakfast is good and the beach is very close. And the rooms have air condition! There's nothing more to stay!

For a very good price you get here everything you want! Hammocks, a little pool, good wifi... I stayed in the dorm room but it had air condition like the others. Good breakfast, you can even choose betwenn different "menus". You can check out quite late and they sell also tours in Machalilla National Park for a very good price!

I agree that 'boutique' is not the right word for the place but I did enjoy my stay there. The owner (really nice and helpful guy) did say that they are constantly improving the property so maybe they will grow into it. Anyway, it's an awesome location a few steps back from the beach, pleasant little courtyard (not a pool... More

Sure is nice when you get a place with a great owner like Santiago. This is a real nice place. Nice rooms with hot water and air conditioning. Free good breakfast. Good WiFi. Nice area by the pool with lots of table and chairs. Santiago was very helpful with all our needs, went beyond expectations. The hotel (santiago) served us... More

We spent 2 nights there. Owner was very nice and helpful. But room was kind of a disgrace, very tiny and dark, shower didn't work at times. Ac was working well though, location perfect. Breakfast was very very basic and swimming pool a joke. We know you can't rely on internet fotos of rooms etc but our room compared to... More
