We stayed overnight on our way between Vale do Capão and Salvador. Our only regrets were 1) we didn't stay longer 2) we had to catch the 07.30 bus and so missed breakfast. We were captivated by the charm of the house and gardens, and really liked Alcino the owner. He was very welcoming and seemed happy to spend time... More

The main house is a restoration / replication of a grand home built during the hay days of diamond exploration. It is tastefully done as one might expect from a talented artist and gentleman. It is in perfect harmony with the surrounding city and makes you feel that you are living over a century ago, but with modern conveniences. It... More

We chose Alcino's Pousada based on TripAdvisor feedback and were NOT disappointed. Location is close enough to the bus station (5 min walk) and 5 min walk to the central square/plaza area. Alcino (calm and charming) welcomed us. Tired from the bus trip, he carried my suticase up the stairs and said to just take our time. He was in... More

A beautiful house which makes all the guests feel a part of the ambience within. The rooms are comfortable, the decor tasteful and it provides an ideal refuge after a day of walking, swimming in waterfalls or admiring the transparency of blue pools! The breakfast exceed all expectations and Alcino adds a personal touch to this experience. He is clearly... More

This guest house in Lencois is full of charm that is lacking in faceless modern hotels. The house is built around an inner patio and is full of the owners artistic touches. The breakfasts are terrific-the food just keeps on coming. We enjoyed three nights there. My bed was a four poster and our room had a private bath but... More

We couldn't have been luckier to have found Alcino's place in Lencois. All of the pousadas/hotels we stayed at in Bahia were excellent, but Alcino's was exceptionally memorable. Aside to the glorious and adventurous Brazilian breakfasts (that all guests rightly rave about), Alcino himself, the house, gardens and atmosphere makes this place a bonafide hidden gem. When we booked this... More

This pousada was booked as part of or honeymoon that Dehouche arranged for us. Although it was different to the hotels we had stayed in beforehand - it was so suited to the spirit on Lencois. So relaxed and friendly. Great location also to explore Lencois and the mountains. We also had Rony for a guide around the Chapada -... More

We arrived at 5am on the night bus from Salvador and didn't expect we'd be able to check in straight away. The pousada is very close to the bus stop and centre of town so 5 minutes after the bus got into Lencois, we were in a comfortable bed catching up on some sleep. A pleasant surprise. The breakfast was... More

We were excited when our travel agent at Dehouche surprised us with this gem. This place was found in all our Brazil travel books and we were excited for our trip to Lencois. Our room was spacious and clean with a private bathroom and shower. Other rooms in the house had shared bathrooms and were very nice as well. The... More
