I loved my stay here. They came and picked me up from the bus station for free, you just let them know in advance what time you will arrive. The staff are all lovely especially Marcia who speaks perfect English and can help you organise tours through them (I did and it was fabulous, they have a whole book you... More

Always clean in all areas including showers and toilets. This is very important when you come back from a whole day of excursion. Several comfortable areas to rest and relax. Breakfast is amazing! Leaders on sustainability practices: rubbish classification, energy efficiency systems, recycled materials for infrastructure and even carbon offsets available to get rid of your carbon footprint during your... Nice hostel, good breakfast! Great location and nice garden. But too many rules!! You have to pay to let your luggage after the check out...etc / breakfast until 9 am!...we are on vacation! And it is a hostel not a hotel! Staff and owners could be more friendly and smile :) I thought i had mosquitoes but it seems to... More

From the minute we walked into the place the friendly owners bent over backwards to help and inform, from digging up people from all around town (calling other hostels) to form a 4 day trekking group for us to helping book onward travel and accommodation. They offer tours at reasonable prices, the breakfast is large and varies everyday and the... More

My boyfriend and I had a great experience when we stayed here in February 2013. Our bus got in from Salvador at 4am, and even though we were initially told they did not do a free transfer at that time, we called the day before and a staff member was kind enough to pick us up at that early hour!... I stayed in HI chapada hostel for about a week. I really liked the hostel , rooms , breakfast . The only problem was the ORWNERS , especially Juan the Argentinian man. Few girls at a time complained that he was flirting, occasionally touching & basically harrasing them. One girl actually left right away because of this. I expressed my... More

The staff are all really friendly and helpful. They offer a free transfer to and from the bus station. Breakfast is really simple but good. The 100 year old building is cool, but a bit kooky - took us a while to work out how to lock our door with the antique key that was easily pushed all the way... More

This is a quiet, cozy and relaxed basic hostel... Club 18-30 type folk WILL be disappointed. Nice rooms, breakfast provided and location is pretty good. RECOMMEND to those who wish to experience Chapada Diamantina without the need for jelly vodka shots or jager slammers!?

Although I had a good stay at this hostel for 2 nights, I decided to move to Pousada da Lurdinha for the same price. I found the hostel to be just an average HI hostel, with many mosquitoes. The breakfast was the same everyday and the seating area was a little crowded. What really pissed me off: I was leaving... More

Spent the weekend at the Hostel Chapada and had a lovely stay. The "hostel" feels more like a rustic bungalow, with wooden floors and ceilings. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They set us up with an amazing guide (Lee) for a hike up to a beautiful waterfall. The atmosphere of the hostel is friendly and... More
