Although there is a wide choice of options in the entire Amazon Basin to stay and have a unique experience and many of them will probably be nice, this one can hardly be beaten. We stayed for a whole week instead of just 3 or 4 days, to include all activities. The rooms are basic but have everything you need,... More

The Uakari Lodge is a special place even in the rainy season. The physical setting of this floating Lodge on a bend in the river is beautiful. The rooms were simple but comfortable, our shower had hot water heated by solar, and each room had a porch with hammocks overlooking the river. The main lodge is spacious, with a large... More

The title says it all. We especially enjoyed the knowledgeable and passionate approach of the guide (Danilo). We and the others showed and told us so much. We couldn't stop looking at tree tops after this experience, trying to spot monkeys and birds. It was very special seeing a slice of the Amazon from up close. Service, food and everything... More

We had a most amazing time staying at this diamond on the Rio Negro, absolutely fantastic location with plenty of wildlife, sounds and it was teaming with life! We spent 3 nights and glad this was a stop in our journey! Several outings were experienced and the guides were very personal and attentive, passionate and made us feel at ease.... More

We had read the positive reviews of Uacari Lodge on Trip Advisor and so our expectations were high...and we were NOT disappointed. This should be the model for sustainable eco-tourism and is the place for you if: you want to learn about and appreciate the flora and the fauna that makes the Amazon such an incredible place. My husband and... More

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights in mid October, and it was definitely a high point of a 3 wk tour of Brazil. There was only one other couple staying there, so the 4 of us really enjoyed the personal service. After pick up at Tefe airport, we were taken to a nice restaurant for lunch, an... More

We spent 5 days in the Uakari Lodge. Everything the other travelers say is true. If you're looking for the true Amazon experience, skip those fancy air-conditioned jungle lodges and stay in Uakari Lodge instead. Accommodation is in floating lodges. It's pretty basic, no power, no phones, no computers, away from it all. But the lodge has radio communication. It's... More

My wife and I spent four days and three nights at this lodge and had the same experience as Swiss VoyagerII. It is located in a protected reserve and is properly run by a caring group of people. Our host, Iris was informative, friendly and patient. Joao was a kind and gentle soul and an excellent guide. If you're a... More

We recently stayed at Pousada Uacari & absolutely loved it. The program is the best example of Eco-tourism we've experienced. One thing I want to highlight is the emphasis the lodge puts on high-quality food & keeping you well-hydrated. Water was never a concern. Light sleepers might want to bring ear plugs. The fish & caiman can keep you awake... More

This is a truly great place and offers an amazing and unique Amazon jungle experience – but beware, the conditions won’t be to everyone’s liking. The hotel is well managed and very efficient. You are looked after from the moment you get off your plane in Tefe to the moment you check in to leave. After a brief car ride... More
