We had checked out this place a year ago and thought it seemed pretty spartan. But when our group checked it, it was larger and better equipped than we had anticipated. The wifi was pretty spotty and only available at the front desk, but that hardly mattered. The rooms are fairly spare, but had good hot water in the showers,... More

This hotel is the perfect place to visit Calakmul and other Mayan ruins in Campeche. It is located just outside of the town of Xpujil, right in the middle of the jungle (we even saw a fox walking around the gardens). The rooms are clean and comfortable. We had an upstairs room and the balcony is great for birdwatching and... More

We were on a 3-week tour of The Lost World of the Mayans and our small group (9) stayed here 2 nights. The rooms are large but basic, the bathroom was fine with a separate room for shower and toilet. The grounds are well-kept. We had two dinners there and the food was good, the wine not over-priced (3 or... More

We stayed here for a visit to Calakmul ruins. We chose the European plan for meals. American plan available. Comfortable, pleasant rooms, well maintained. We were on ground floor, close to restaurant, pool, office, and parking. Ideal room location. Service was friendly.

We stayed one night at the Chicanno Ecovillage Resort, and I wish we had stayed another night. The grounds were beautiful and clean and the staff was very attentive and friendly. There is an on-sight restaurant that is very good and if you are there right at dusk, you will be treated to a wonderful display of fruit bats. We... More

My husband preferred a different ecovillage near by but they never replied to our booking requests. So we found ourselves at Chicanna Ecovillage. The location worked out perfectly our two day itinerary in the area. We were able to avoid a lot of backtracking. The rooms were clean. The bed was very firm but after a long day of trekking... More

We have stayed at the Eco-Village about three times over the last five years. It is always very clean and comfortable. The rooms are large. The restaurant has a large selection on the menu. The hotel employees are always very helpful. It is a great place to stay and is reasonably priced.

Okay to stay for one night, rooms are really very basic, it took a while until I mastered the control to get warm water in the shower .... The restaurant did not look nicely, so I drove back to the main road and had dinner in a local cantina nearby, which was a nice experience and I had a very... More

I had the pleasure of staying at Ecovillage Chicanna after about 4 years from my previous visit. It is the best option for lodging if exploring the Calakmul area on vacation. My first visit to Ecovillage Chicanna was in 1995 or 1996 before they opened for business and had just one cabaña completed. I'm happy to report that they have... More

We stayed at this hotel for one night and we found it nice and clean. The room was on the second floor in one of the two-storied cottages of the compound and has no aircon. The restaurant has some good dishes altough it is overpriced if you consider the prices you can find in other restaurants in the nearby Xpujil... More
